I went to see Daniel. Yes, that Daniel.

That Malaysian Idol Daniel Lee.

*picks up your dropped jaw and puts it back to your face*

NOT like I’m his fan or something la. I had to go see him because mom wanted to see him (slaps face emo) and she pulled me along because she insisted that I will end up having a J-Lo butt if I kept sitting in front of commie for a whole day.

Sighs. So we went to Terminal One Seremban, spent half an hour finding Parmie a seat, and yes, we saw Daniel finally.

The crowd was huge, but not as huge as I expected. The selected venue was totally stupid because Popular was having their book fair right in front of the stage, which made the autograph session extremely inconvenient. So everyone had to squeeze each other in between tables of books. And to make sure Popular don’t lose their money, the security guards had to check our bags to make sure nobody stole any book.

At 4pm, Daniel made a punctual appearance. And the crowd started roaring.

(please pardon my lousy photography (angle, sharpness etc), because I have gone pass that puberty phase where I had that passion/stamina to queue 2 hours for a strategic view of my beloved idol.)

Anycheese. I actually felt so paiseh , because I was standing amongst a sea of 13, 14-year-old mui mui jais (which made me feel like, erm, an aged cheese) who were each holding a Daniel’s new album in hand (so sorry I hadn’t even heard his new songs at time) , and screaming his name ala survivors screaming for help in LOST (Cheesus Crust, the Stellars must have poise, ok.)

I was so paiseh I actually pretended to be a photojournalist, taking photos of the event and all (in case you are wondering, I bring my cam with me all the time). But guess what, I actually managed to find out something interesting.

Look at this obaasan. She was watching Daniel quietly. Like a secret admirer. Or maybe that’s his sister? Okay fine, mom.

Then hor…

LOL.

And some others tried everything to have a closer/clearer look at Daniel.

Every little movement of Daniel kindled some kind of eager waves and crazy “I-love-you-Daniel” shrieks.

And then there was this little girl who went on stage and recited a freaking 5 mins long “poem” to Daniel, which gave me goose bumps all over and no, I can’t bear the torture to repeat what she said.

Having said that, I must admit Daniel sang really well on stage that day. Maybe it was the nervousness that made him sound terrible during the finals. But he sure sings heart-meltingly well when he has confidence boosters like his forever-loyal “Pinky Backup Force” with their deafening screams and also, “pompom obaasan”. LOL.

For those who still don’t get why Nita didn’t win the competition, well, now you see why.

Because this new Malaysian Idol has indeed become an idol.
