I always wanted to go Taiwan with my bf but we heard so many people commented that the food is not nice and nothing to do over there… Is it true??? Maybe you would like to share more with me about this country? Cos from what I see in the Taiwanese shows, it’s a really great place!!! But… I don’t speak Mandarin… :p

Hmm. Well I’ve been to Taiwan (Taipei) once. And I can say that the people I’ve met there are nice and more fluent in English than people in Kowloon, the food is VERY yummy (apparently Taipei-ites and Singaporeans have a small rivalry about who has better street food), the beef noodle soup is to die die for, the original Din Tai Fung and Ice Monster are steps from each other, the nightlife scene is jumping (I was at Carnegie’s and Luxy on their respective ladies’ nights) and it’s easy to get around with their MRT.

And did I mention the hot springs in Beitou? That’s a MRT stop BTW.

I did visit some sights. Taipei 101. The Martyr’s Shrine. The CKS Memorial Hall. I didn’t get to visit the National Museum which is supposed to be the best in the world for Chinese art; will visit next visit.

I think Taipei is a good city to eat and drink in that has some attractions. They have a High Speed Train (700 series Shinkansen) running up and down Taiwan now. My next visit will probably involve visiting the Taroko Gorge, maybe one of the outlying islands and Kaohsiung. I know there’s other stuff in Taiwan, but I’ve only been to Taipei on a short 4 day visit…

Penny: Abraxis gave very good insight about Taipei and you can also refer to my past travel entries on Taipei, just look under Cheescapade category. You will absocheesinglutely love shopping there. :)

Sharon: It’s basically very very easy if you do it often enough. Just make sure you angle it properly so you don’t need to tear it off and stick again, which makes it clumpy and gooey. In no time you will become a pro! :) Oh you mean the black&red top? It’s from Seed!

abraxis: Thank you for your very detailed comment. I agree with most of your statements! I haven’t tried Ice Monster though. This time i went to Alishan as well. A very good experience. :)

Ying Bin & Benn: Thank you!

lasilasi: Try layering a bit should look very good! Don’t worry it will grow in no time!

vic: I know right its being such a lamp post!

    onasia: indeed!
