Kanagawa – Yokosuka & Yokohama

March 4, 2019

Read my previous blog post on Kanagawa’s Miura Kaigan and Misaki Maguro Ticket!

Yokosuka (横須賀)

It is my first time to Yokosuka, a city in Kanagawa Prefecture. It is most well-known for its history as a naval port. There are lots to see and do here such as Memorial Ship Mikasa, Yokosuka Military Port tour, Yokosuka Port Market and more.

Today we are going to Kannonzaki, a resort park with art museum, spa, hotel and stylish restaurants!

Kanagawa – Misaki Maguro Day Trip Ticket

February 28, 2019

Kanagawa is one of the prefectures I go back the most often other than Tokyo, because it simply has too many attractions full of local charms to offer.

Think famous hot spring and shrine in Hakone, stylish, romantic port city Yokohama, “Little Kyoto” Kamakura, summer beach vacation at Zushi, even my favorite service area Ebina (which I think has world best toilet system haha), are all in Kanagawa Prefecture. Kanagawa is my favorite!!! (Just don’t let other 46 prefectures know ok.) read more

Chiba Prefecture – Off The Beaten Path

February 21, 2019

I have conquered 45/47 prefectures as of today, and Chiba was my first ever prefecture, and likely yours if you have been to Japan before. Why?

Narita Airport! If you flew in via Narita International Airport, you have officially set foot in Chiba prefecture. And if you have to been to Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea, you have also conquered Chiba prefecture. Despite the “Tokyo” in its name, Tokyo Disney Resort is actually located in Chiba prefecture.

So! What is there to see or do in Chiba, other than these two famous attractions that you have already known? I have a few other blog posts under Chiba Prefecture, you can read all of them here! read more

Printer hacks to help your child learn at home

February 18, 2019

Many have asked me what I do with @cheesiepetits during my free time. Ideally I would love to bring them travel as much as possible to see the world and gain different experience, but since Junya started his new school now we are mostly limited to home activities and a walk at the park nearby.

Senti-Emmental, Why Japan Is Awesome

56 months VS…

February 11, 2019

You know what? Nevermind.

The kids are fine. They are happy. Tearing down the house as usual. Building spaceship stations and airports with sofa cushions and Champon in our bedroom. Stealing all the CNY snacks without asking me. Switching on Anpanman to watch by themselves (they know the remote control better than me now, Junya even taught me how to fastforward the programs). They also have not been sick (touch wood) since the change of new school for Junya.

They are happy and fine.

So, this month, this monthlyversary blog post, is about ME. read more

JR WEST Rail Pass – Sanyo-San’in Area Pass

February 8, 2019

I hope you have a better idea on JR West Rail Passes after reading my previous blog post. ^^

So now, sample itinerary time!

The first pass I’ll be introducing is Sanyo-San’in Area Pass. This pass is valid for 7 days, here’s a sample itinerary that brings you across 6 prefectures in 7D7N (or 7D6N) with minimum change of hotels so that you won’t have to haul your luggage everywhere with you! You will be staying 2 nights in Hiroshima, 3 nights in Okayama and 1 or 2 night(s) in Osaka. ^^ read more

Conquer West Japan with JR West Rail Pass

February 1, 2019

I’m so excited for this post! It was written the very next morning after I came back from my 7-day #CheesieConquersWestJapan trip.

Before I even start the post, I want to thank JR West for giving me this wonderful opportunity to travel through 10 different prefectures in 7 days, conquering 3 new prefectures, meeting many amazing people (and a couple of miracle encounters along the way), laughing a lot, and most importantly, feeling the love of Japan, more than ever.
