maNara, a touching story about cosmetic

July 28, 2015

Today i want to introduce a new cosmetic/skin care brand that i come to love very much recently.

But before that i want to share some stories!

So during my family trip in Japan, Tokyo Luxey insisted i meet up with this brand called maNara because they think i will like the products. So i did, and we set a meet up at Loft, Yurakucho near Ginza, because maNara is sold at the Loft.

I thought i was just meeting the marketing people or the brand representative, but…

The founder and president of maNara, Iwasaki Yumiko san herself took some time off her super busy schedule just to meet this foreign blogger in Japan!! T___T read more

The meaning of Itadakimasu

July 26, 2015

Many of us love Japanese food.

If you are a little familiar with Japanese culture, you may have noticed that Japanese people say “Itadakimasu” before they start eating at the table.

You put both your hands together and with a slight bow, you say Itadakimasu, and then pick up the chopsticks and start eating. We practice this at our home every day as the danna is really strict with table manners. Junya will have to do it too lol.

Anyway, people usually translate Itadakimasu as “Bon Appetit” or “Let’s eat” (Or in Hokkien “lai lai lai jiak jiak jiak!!!” lolol), which is correct, but doesn’t reflect its true meaning. read more

Eat Tokyo with Baby (Part 3)

July 25, 2015

Part 2 here.  Part 1 here.

So so so!! It’s Tokyo time!!! This was our trip to Japan in May/June 2015. Junya was about to turn 1 so it was his last few weeks as a baby hehe. Here are some of the restaurants we have been!

1. Malaychan

Actually we didn’t try this, but i thought it would be useful for Malaysian readers especially Muslims travelers!

It’s a Halal Malaysian restaurant at Ikebukuro! It’s supposed to be a pun for “Belacan” i think lol.

If ever you miss home and some comfort food (almost never happen for me XD), do drop by Malaychan and let me know if it is good! read more

Baby Friendly Cafes in Tokyo

July 19, 2015

Chano Mama, Isetan Shinjuku

One of the most popular baby-friendly cafes in Tokyo is the one i have blogged about before (but haven’t visited), Chano Mama, located at 6F, Isetan Shinjuku.

In fact, baby-friendly is not really the accurate term to describe Chano Mama. It is a Baby Cafe, because without one, you are actually not really allowed to dine in.

So yea, it is a mama and baby heaven.

I went there with my mamatomo (mommy friend) Junna and her baby Ryoga.

It’s extremely popular so during weekends there’s usually a line, and if you are lucky, you will get a sofa bed seat like this: read more

Nattacosme by Rakuten Malaysia

July 15, 2015

Most of you probably know that Rakuten is the biggest online shopping mall in Japan.

You can see all the brands are always so proud to advertise that they are ranked No.1 in Rakuten, so it has set the standard in Japanese shopping industry! I myself shop from Rakuten Japan all the time when i stay in Japan because it is just too convenient! I buy Junya’s milk powder, baby food, clothes and other household items there. As a mother you just don’t have the time to head down to the malls all the time. Unfortunately Rakuten Japan only ships to Japanese addresses 🙁 read more

#Lunchforjunya in Japan

July 4, 2015

Staying for a month in Tokyo with the danna and Junya means allllll the happiness in the world, but i was also secretly dreading the trip for one reason.

Junya was turning 1 year old when we were in Japan. That also means that he is eating 3 full proper meals now. To be honest, i wasn’t very much ready to prepare all 3 meals for him, every single day. I’m ok to do that back home in KL, but we are in Tokyoooooooooo baybeh! What about sightseeing!!! Shopping!!! Eating out at yummy restaurant every single day!!! Go out the whole day without thinking about the boiling pots!!! read more

Agete

July 3, 2015

As i grow more mature especially as a mom now, i am finding myself slowly outgrowing street accessories and fast fashion, and more towards quality and items that hold a significance to me. For example a simple T shirt that reminds me of the fun time from a distant resort holiday… or a precious pair of rings for an anniversary. It’s really weird to say so, but i want to treat each of my fashion item with love, and cherish them as long as i can.

agete (pronounced agatto) is one of these brands that gives you that kind of feeling. Most of you may not have heard of agete before, but in Japan, it is one of the most popular fashion jewelry brands, with 80 stores across Japan and 15 overseas. read more

Tokyo Coordinate 2015 Summer

June 27, 2015

Collection of my (and also sometimes Junya’s) coordinates this Japan trip in summer! The weather was mostly quite nice (pleasantly warm, though occasionally could be quite hot) so it was a breeze to dress up!

Other than the few outings we had, it was mostly just a trip to the mall next door or combini downstairs so some of them were really just Combini Coordinate lolol. BUT HEY I AM IN TOKYO. There’s zero forgiveness for fashion laziness.

Coordinate 1

It was a family date at Harajuku for shopping! Since my suitcase was mostly filled up with Junya’s diapers and none of my own clothes, it’s perfect excuse for a new wardrobe. read more

#PanasonicWanderlust

June 18, 2015

I always thought that i would be confined mostly at home once i start a family, but recently our family have been traveling quite a lot, especially now that Junya is older and he started to enjoy seeing new things.

We have been in Hawaii for a family resort vacation for a few days now and we are loving it! For the past few weeks, we have truly enjoyed our family life together in Tokyo, going to new places and taking on new adventures… I wanted to eternalize all these precious moments (you know how babies grow up so fast!!), so i am trying to take as many pictures as i could. Recently i have also started recording snippets of our life on videos! read more

Bali with Junya

June 7, 2015

Photo post on Bali during our family trip in early May.

Afternoon flight was much harder since Junya wanted to move around and wiggled non stop -_-

Was hoping he slept through most of the 3 hours flight but he woke up after 15 mins -_-.

We stayed at the same resort again in Canggu! Away from all the tourist mess, the danna wanted to have some peace and ALLLL the waves to himself lolol.

Breakfast by the seaside!

Beachfront resort. It’s just foot steps away!

Danna went surfing early in the morning. read more
