Okaimono June 2016

June 20, 2016

Since the danna goes back to Japan every month, I take the chance to order my shopping items online and have him bring it back for me. Super happy!

Here are some of the things I bought this month:

From the drugstore! Medicine for the kids and throat candy.

Bath goods! Milky in bath lotion for the kids, baby sponge and a bottle of 100% natural bath essence (far right) that is supposed to make you feel nostalgic of the natural scent of forest woods, but all of us ended up smelling like smoked bacon. No joke. Do not buy this. lolol. read more

Benefit of awesome brows

June 8, 2016

Over the past few years, many eyebrow embroidery services approached for sponsorship but I turned all of them down because…

Just like hair, brows are part of fashion, and there should be no permanent alteration done to it that stays for life. Even semi-permanent embroidery stays for years. But fashion changes all the time, and you won’t want a hair perm that for 5 years, no matter how good it looks. And brows are the same! I remember the trends went from the HK female artist super defined arched brows to the Gyaru super bleached brows to the K-pop straight brows (which everyone is totally overdoing by the way, and which would have been such a fashion disaster 10 years ago). In between there were also the thick and soft brows, messy brows, dyed brows, etc. What’s next? Invisible brows, probably! (You’d never know!) read more

Hakone (Spring 2016)

June 5, 2016

Our last trip to Hakone before baby Sakura was born!

As usual we rented a car and went on a road trip with our typical itinerary: Ebina rest area for breakfast, Hakone to thank the tree god, and Gotenba for shopping and sushi. Haha super predictable!

First time trying the famous Ebina Melon Pan!

Melon Pan is basically the Japanese Roti Boy lol. There’s no melon in it! It’s just that the crust makes it look vaguely like a melon hence the name.

It’s so popular it even has its own Gotochi Kitty! read more

Live Squid in Saga Prefecture

May 28, 2016

Stealing some time to blog during the nap time of two babies!!

During our trip to Nagasaki earlier this March, we had one day free after our overnight stay in Huis Ten Bosch, so the danna asked if I wanted to visit Saga prefecture, which is about just half an hour drive away from Sasebo, where Huis Ten Bosch is located.

I was super excited and asked him, “what’s there to see in Saga???” and he was like, “Nothing.”

He only wanted to bring me there because he knew I wanted to check one more prefecture off my life mission (which is to visit ALL the prefectures in Japan). read more

The Japan Professional Deodorant QB

May 23, 2016

The weather has been so crazy hot recently, or is it just me?

After giving birth, I have been staying home a lot to take care of one toddler and one baby, and even though the aircon is on, I feel like I am constantly trapped inside a sauna! I really cannot imagine other mommies who goes through “confinement” with no fan or aircon allowed. I am soooooo glad I don’t have to go through that.

I am sweating all the time and it feels really icky to have to hold my baby and nurse her when I’m all sticky but I simply don’t have the time to go for showers 5X a day T___T. read more

My first book!

May 18, 2016

I have already announced it on my social media but here it is again!

My first book titled “How I Make A Living Blogging” is out!

I have not mentioned anything about this until it is actually out in the bookshelves, because I didn’t believe that it would actually happen!

A million thanks to MPH, my publisher who made this a dream come true. MPH approached me in December 2015 and they were interested to publish my story on how I am making blogging a career. At first I was like, huh, the whole story is in the blog itself, why would anyone wants to read (or even pay money to buy) my story? read more

Pregnancy Diet Journey

May 4, 2016

A lot of fellow moms (or mother-to-be) asked how I managed to only gain 7KG at 9 months pregnant, and what’s my secret?!?!?!

During my first pregnancy I gained a total of 8KG, and this time I think it is pretty similar. While it does sound a liiiiitle enviable, my pregnancy isn’t without any problems. In fact, the struggle with weight gain was one of the challenges, not to mention a lot of worrying about nutritional and health issues.

Here’s a little sharing of my pregnancy diet journey so far, and some of the challenges I have encountered. read more

My “KonMari” wardrobe makeover

April 30, 2016

Sooooo.

Everybody said that without a helper now, I will just have to put up with a messier house in exchange for a more peaceful state of mind and more family privacy. Which sounds like a fair trade off. After all our mental health is more important than a spot-free house! I thought long and hard about it. But there has to be a way that’s better than that. Why can’t I have it all??? I am a firm believer of having all your cakes and eat every single piece of it down to the last drop of fresh cream. read more

So this is what I’ve been busy with.

April 24, 2016

Sorry for the lack of update on whatever you are following me on.

Basically I am occupied with having a real life and deal with real problems. And what’s more important?

I am busy learning new skills.

Latest achievement is this:

BEFORE (for the past 20 years or so)

I mean, who on earth cares about folding bedsheets?! How do you fold that damn thing anyway?

It’s sounds more plausible that I could probably learn how to knit a fluffy alpaca with one toe given enough time, than to think that one day in my life, I would be bothered to actually learn how to fold a freshly-laundered piece of sheet (no pun intended). Properly. read more

CNP launches their latest Propolis range featuring 3 brand new products, focusing on the 3 keys: Renewing, Restoring and Revitalizing. read more

Huis Ten Bosch with Junya

April 19, 2016

Photo post on Nagasaki!

The danna (then kareshi) and I went to Huis Ten Bosch 4 years ago in spring 2012, this time we brought Junya back to the same theme park in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture.

There was a super romantic Rose Festival back then (they are gonna have it this year too in May), and this time around it was the Tulips Festival.

Huis Ten Bosch’s website here!

I have been to Holland before and I must say this is quite a beautiful replica of little Dutch towns!

Didn’t know tulips come in soooo many pretty colors! read more
