Actually it is in fish eyes!

Here’s a compilation of photos i’ve taken during my Japan trip last December using my PENTAX Q7, with an interchangeable fish-eye lens. You can read up my previous blog post about it using the original kit-lens!

I had a few days alone while the danna was busy with work. I totally don’t mind just walking alone in Tokyo so i decided to spend a day exploring new routes and things and record it all with a fish-eye lens. Here’s a leisure journey of a day in Tokyo on a relaxing day alone:

10:30am Shibuya, Tokyo

Shibuya 109, the shopping heaven for young girls and fashion tourists <3

How crossing the world-famous Shibuya scramble-junction feels like on a weekend afternoon.

Shopping alone! (I am not sure why i have to explain this but i’m wearing a mask because i had a cold and i didn’t want the flu spreading to other healthy people especially in such crowded place, not because there’s a deadly plague going on or whatever.)

11:30AM Yoyogi Park, Tokyo

I took a long walk from Shibuya to Yoyogi Park as a good exercise. I love Yoyogi park! It’s hard to believe such a huge and clean park exist in a city where just minutes away there’s people mountain people sea lol.

Some quiet time on my own, breathing fresh air and people watching. (Parents bring their cute kids here and it’s pleasant to watch.)

Also bought some snacks (an onigiri, Nagasaki strawbies and a bottle of milk) for a park picnic.

And the reason why i love this camera+lens is that it’s totally made for selfies! Although it doesn’t come with a flip screen, you will never not get a good shot because it captures just about eeevvvverrrythinggg. You and everything around you.

Me and strawberries in a park.

Chilling for a good while, and then i walked along the park, exited to Harajuku (near Meiji Shrine), walked all the way along Omotesando for some window shopping.

3:00pm Omotesando, Tokyo

This is the 76 Cafe and 76 Salon i always visit!! It’s located at Omotesando. Ground floor is the cafe and upstairs is the salon. Had my lunch (fav Omelette rice) and said hello to the stylists upstairs, and walked to Omotesando station.

5:00pm Shibuya Station

From Shibuya train station in the evening. Sunset was about 4:30pm.

Here’s where you can spot Hachiko and the train (in green) it was waiting for always. I love Hachiko but this is one of my most hated places in Tokyo cuz it is waaaaaay too crowded as a meeting point (you will never find your friend lol), and is a smoking area and dodgy guys picking random girls up yucks.

And then i walked back home and rested until dinner time. That day i must have walked something like 10km! I didn’t feel too tired and it was really enjoyable. I didn’t expect just walking in the city calmed me down so much and was so relaxing.

Zojoji, Tokyo

On another day, the danna and i went to Zojoji Otera for annual prayers, and this was the funeral place where Hugh Jackman in Wolverine Samurai started killing people and suddenly run to Ueno station in just a few seconds lolol. You get a full clear view of Tokyo Tower from there.

#Tokyo2020

So excited for it! Our baby would be 6 by then omg!!

After sunset we took a drive along Roppongi, famous for its Christmas illumination every year.

 Hakone, Kanazawa

Of course then we went to Hakone for our first anniversary as i blogged earlier.

To pray and give thanks for prosperity and health.

Me with the Baby Tree haha. The tree is so so so tall, i was surprised the lens was able to capture all the way to the top!

After blogging about this a lot of people told me they wanna come and touch the tree too. Come come come!!! It brought us so much good luck <3

At night we retired back to our little (actually not little at all, it was spacious!) traditional ryokan. This is the dining, and you can move the table aside and put futon on the tatami.

But there’s also a yoshiki (western-style) bedroom if you prefer a proper bed. I absolutely love how the lens captured two rooms at the same time!

The best thing was of course the attached outdoor hotspring.

You have your usual bathroom, and a glass door that leads to the rotenburo (outdoor hot bath)

You can’t take pictures in public bath of course, but when it is a private one, snap alllllll the pictures XD. It is a little blurry because of all the hot steam. I cannot repeat enough time how much i love onsen omg. It felt so so so so so good and your skin is baby-like after a 5 mins dip.

Anyway, hotspring is safe for pregnancy (as many of you are concerned), as long as the temperature is not overly high and you don’t stay too long in it. Kanbanyoku (Japanese stone spa) and sauna is not recommended though. So yes please enjoy all the onsen!!! <3

(Snapping pic of people eating is kind of rude XD sorry) At night we had an in-room dinner. And a perfect ending to our anniversary date (and of course a few more quick onsen dip after that lol).

So that’s it! I looooove this fish eye lens. It is especially useful when you want to capture a wide scenery, a group of friends, at a party, or awesome view with yourself in it.

How much?
