After Misaki Maguro Day Trip in the morning, we took a train to Kamakura.

I have actually been to Kamakura two years ago in the summer, and also stopped by Zushi beach for Hanabi Taikai (Fireworks Festival). It’s really nice to come back again in a different season!

Kamakura is a traditional little town, many call it the Kyoto in Kanto area (Eastern Japan). So if you want to get a feel of olden Japan without traveling all the way to Kansai, you would love this lovely small city. read more

Here are some of the Cheat One™ meals in our house.

Meal 1

Vegetable cream stew (broccoli, shimeji mushroom, carrot and brussel sprouts with bacon),  Japanese pear and Yakult!

Meal 2

Yong tau fu. This is one of my favorite because it’s easy and can batch make a lot to keep for several meals. And also very low carb!

Quick pasta lunch.

Don’t know if you can even imagined this, but it’s a Danna Recipe! It’s called Tomato and Avocado Sashimi. Basically it is what it is: raw diced tomato and raw diced avocado (sashimi) with wasabi and soy sauce. It probably sounds very strange but it’s surprisingly very good! The avocado is rich, creamy akin that of fatty maguro or toro!! We also had a version with added tuna flakes. 😀 read more

Last post from my Japan trip in spring. I’m going again early December for work, back, then go again middle of Dec with family, and bringing Junya for the first time! ♡

So it was my last few days in Japan, and Genie danna has granted me one last wish. I didn’t know where to go so i asked him to just bring me anywhere!! He knows i love onsen, so we (read: he) drove 3 hours to Gunma prefecture to head to one of the Top 3 Hot Spring in Japan: Kusatsu.

Some of you have asked for recipe sharing after the last dannaben blog post, but i say don’t need to waste your mouse/phone battery to ask me la because 1. even if i do there will only be the 3 of you who are interested and 2. they are actually not that yummy HAHAHHA.

I know because everyday i ask the danna “how’s the bento today?” and he’ll reply “very good!” and i’ll ask “are you just being polite?” and he’ll say “yes.”. With a very serious face. read more

Apparently the danna is at the heaviest of his life now, so he requested me to control his diet by making healthy bento every day to help him lose weight .

So this is a collection of some of the dannaben (lunch box for husband in Japanese. Bento for the danna = dannaben) for him to bring to work. They are quite repetitive (batch cook for one week!) so i don’t think they are very interesting, mostly for my own reference. Anyway no more Kyaraben because in the end i decided it’s just not worth the time lolol. I’d rather spend extra 5 minutes to actually take a proper dump wtf. read more

I really have not thought about this before. When you run out of clothes to wear, wear your husband’s. Quite genius right??? It all started with me borrowing his hat. And then i realized that i’m more in love with his wardrobe than with my own. How weird is that! So, like a drug, i am addicted to wearing his clothes (without letting him know lolol).
