Today we celebrate our second wedding anniversary.

Two years ago we got married in Nagasaki. And last year we spent our first anniversary in a Hakone ryokan with an extra family member in my belly.

I can hardly believe it has only been two years since we got married! Today the danna asked, are you sure? Isn’t this the third year? Yeap. The whole 老夫老妻ness has already arrived.

This year,it is just our usual, simple day in our little apartment in Tokyo, all three of us. There’s no extravagant surprises, no elaborated romantic dinner date. In fact it’s so financially effective it also doubles as a Christmas celebration. One cake two occasions. Also, the cake isn’t even real. read more

Today officially marks the 10th year of this blog.

I really have never thought that i could keep this blog for one whole decade. You can build a whole new city in 10 years plus a few extra space ships.

If it dies today, i think it has served me awesomely and it has no regrets (yea i control the way it feels lolol).

So every year i would click the archive and re-read my older blogniversary posts. I read last year’s post and i realized one thing.

I have been so happy for a year.

Anyway.

Boring haos update again. It’s really 没完没了. The moment i finished vacuuming for one hour, the ikea people came and all my effort went down the drain T_____T.

Also i haven’t updated anything substantial (if there was ever anything like that) on blog/instagram for days simply because there was nothing interesting to talk about. I dress like a contractor every day running sweaty errands non-stop. I’m not very sure if any of you want to hear about me applying for apartment cooking gas or look at the picture of my new broom. read more

Took me a long time to write this post! (it is so long i may as well print a book.)

When it comes to pregnancy i was planning to keep it a secret for as long as i can so mum’s the word (lolol sorry can’t resist the pun opportunity), for several reasons: 1. just like everyone else, i was extremely paranoid during early pregnancy (is the baby’s heart still beating? How come i don’t feel pregnant anymore?! WILL COLD JUICES KILL THE FETUS???) so it’s best i wait till everything settles down before the announcement, and 2. announcing pregnancy is extremely stressful with a platozillion of different advices and opinions coming your way without you asking for one. read more

The other day i was trying to think of what i did last Christmas eve (together with the danna? work? party? ), and i couldn’t seem to recall. And then i realized it was my wedding day. :X

It seemed like years ago!

Our wedding was in a small church in Nagasaki last Christmas eve.

Last year just before Christmas, we came to Hakone for prayers. It has become our yearly ritual. Like i said before, it was our power spot. We sort of got to know each other, started dating, and eventually got married, because of the wishes we made in Hakone Shrine. We don’t ever doubt how spiritually powerful this amazing shrine is. read more

Hello!

Today this blog turns 9 years. And it is extra auspicious because there are a lot of 9s. It will probably live a long life.

On every blog anniversary day when i remembered (somet years forget, but this year i put a reminder down in calendar), i did a blog post and feel thankful for how long i have managed to keep this blog. I often ponder about the shelf life of a blog. It largely depends on how much effort and passion you want to put in to maintain it, just like every other aspects of life. And sometimes i wonder if next year, i would be celebrating the demise graduation of this blog instead. After all 9 years is a quite a long time. read more

Today is the danna’s birthday, we decided to go for something simple, so we went to his favorite Okinawan restaurant.

It’s an old, narrow little izakaya in Shibuya.

Never realized i have completely taken it for granted until this point of my life.

The haze affected me a lot (all of you who didn’t know, after Singapore, now Kuala Lumpur is also engulfed by smoke coming from Sumatran fires) , i don’t feel well generally (headache, dry throat and itchy eyes), but i think i suffer worse emotionally.

When the whole city looks apocalyptic, I keep having this paranoia that no matter how much i stay indoor, how many layers of masks i put on or how strong i set my air purifier on, i am still breathing the same horrible air coming from outside. read more

If you walk out half way through a movie, the movie probably sucks so much that you cannot continue. Director’s fault. This is a short thank you post dedicated to NHK Tokyo Kawaii TV.

After coming back from our wedding in Nagasaki, our friends and colleagues had a surprise celebration for us. They recorded a video of greetings and wishes from our friends and mostly danna’s friend (whom i don’t know mostly, but there were actually a few famous Japanese people wtf).
