Happy 2015!

December 31, 2014

So, let’s see what has happened in 2014!!

1. Had a baby!

2.

Hmm.

I had a baby. And….. that’s all. That pretty much sums up my year 2014 lolol.

image3 (2)

But 2014 has been the happiest year! 😀 😀 😀 Although i thought the same about 2013.

All the better, i am spending new year here in Japan, with the danna and Junya! (We always fly back to Malaysia on 31st December every year due to work.)

It’s really quite hard to imagine a life happier than this. Even washing the dishes here is a happy chore cuz their dish washing liquid is so kickass awesome. read more

Mama Life In Japan

December 29, 2014

So i have been living my new mama life with Junya in Japan now for about two weeks.

Before we came to Japan i was really nervous and worried. He has just turned 6 months and is reaching a lot of new milestones, like getting more and more mobile, being more curious about the surrounding, having longer periods of waking time, and most importantly, has just started solid. There are so many new changes that could making traveling intimidating, let alone to have him adapt to such drastic environment and weather change. read more

The baby wishing tree in Hakone

December 26, 2014

Our family came to Japan to complete two very important missions:

1. To bring Junya’s to visit his grandfather in Nagasaki for the first time.

2. To bring Junya to visit Hakone Shrine.

We would be back to Nagasaki during Oshogatsu (Japanese New Year), but first thing first, to visit Hakone and give our thanks.

Because Junya is literally a wish come true right in front of my eyes. Sorry i mean right inside my belly.

2012

Made a wish for a happy, safe family and a baby in the near future. read more

2 year anniversary

December 24, 2014

Today we celebrate our second wedding anniversary.

Two years ago we got married in Nagasaki. And last year we spent our first anniversary in a Hakone ryokan with an extra family member in my belly.

I can hardly believe it has only been two years since we got married! Today the danna asked, are you sure? Isn’t this the third year? Yeap. The whole 老夫老妻ness has already arrived.

This year,it is just our usual, simple day in our little apartment in Tokyo, all three of us. There’s no extravagant surprises, no elaborated romantic dinner date. In fact it’s so financially effective it also doubles as a Christmas celebration. One cake two occasions. Also, the cake isn’t even real. read more

First flight

December 21, 2014

Finally! It was time to bring to Junya back to Japan for the first time ♡

The danna and i had been feeling nervous about this for months, since we have heard many stories about how difficult flying with a baby could be. And admittedly i have also had the urge to strangle a few wailing children in the plane before i had one myself T__T. So while very excited, i was also dreading it.

Since we would be away for 3 weeks, we had to send Champon back to Seremban to stay with my mom.

The danna couldn’t go with me so it was also my first time driving such long distance with Junya alone. He was just spacing out/dozing off the entire time so i considered it a success, and hoped that it was a good start to level up to a much longer flight. read more

Orbit Baby!

December 19, 2014

Junya didn’t have a stroller until he was almost 2 months old. His mom simply could not handle the information overload when it comes to baby stroller shopping. I do salute parents who can make up their mind after being handed 300 brochures from different brands and 500 different opinion from friends.

(When i was 7 months pregnant. Leaving the stroller decision to the very confused danna lol)

Some say, you will never go wrong with a sturdy one with large wheels! Some other say, get the lightest one or you will regret that thousands of bucks spent! Some say, just get a in-between so it’s a balance of both! Some say, just get two lah!!! read more

Hello Kitty Cafe Restaurant: Yokohama

December 16, 2014

This is a bonus post from the #CheesieInKanagawa blog posts.

[You can read also Ep1: Yokohama,  Ep2: Miura, Ep3: Kamakura &Fujisawa, and Ep4: Hakone]

This Hello Kitty Cafe Restaurant is part of Yokohama’s experience, but it’s so awesome it deserves a separate blog post!

HKCR can be found in Motomachi, Yokohama.

I didn’t have a better and brighter photo because it was about 7pm when we visited the cafe. Before we came here, my local guide Iwate san told how it would be quite different from all the other Hello Kitty Cafes i’ve been to. I was so excited as this was the last stop before heading back to Haneda airport. And i am so so glad i made it there. read more

Kanagawa Ep4: Hakone

December 14, 2014
[You can read also Ep1: Yokohama,  Ep2: Miura and Ep3: Kamakura &Fujisawa]

This post is on How to Get to Hakone! Did you know? (although i have already told you) Hakone is part of Kanagawa Prefecture, and is its best-known tourist destination.

#ButFirstLetMeTakeASelfie

Today’s coordinate. Accessories changed as it get a little colder, much colder, super freaking cold, etc.

This guide would be useful even for myself as i have never gone to Hakone by train before. The danna usually rents a car and he would drive up to the shrine, make our prayers and come back down. We stayed over in a ryokan once and lately i requested to go to Owakudani (the place with black egg!!), and it has never occurred me that there are so many other places to visit in Hakone. read more

Kanagawa Ep3: Kamakura & Fujisawa

December 11, 2014
[You can read also Ep1: Yokohama, and Ep2: Miura]

After Misaki Maguro Day Trip in the morning, we took a train to Kamakura.

I have actually been to Kamakura two years ago in the summer, and also stopped by Zushi beach for Hanabi Taikai (Fireworks Festival). It’s really nice to come back again in a different season!

Kamakura is a traditional little town, many call it the Kyoto in Kanto area (Eastern Japan). So if you want to get a feel of olden Japan without traveling all the way to Kansai, you would love this lovely small city. read more

Baby

6 months

December 11, 2014

Junya turns 6 months today!

(Also read  first month , second month , third month and fourth month and fifth month here.)

The so called half-birthday.

A lot of families in Japan celebrate their baby’s half birthday, i didn’t know there’s such a thing, until someone told me it’s very likely created by photo studios and other similar companies to make more money out of the gimmick-gullible Japanese parents. Good move. XD

So here’s what happened in the past month! read more

KANAGAWA EP2: Misaki Maguro Day Trip

December 10, 2014

On the second day of my Kanagawa trip, we went to Miura and Kamakura.

This post is a guide to Misaki Maguro Kippu. It literally means, the Misaki Tuna Ticket. Huh? Now what’s that about? Whatever it is, sounds delicious. 😛

Let’s see.

But first let me take a selfie 😛

(In the purest sense of the words lolol)

Coordinate of the day.

A ticket denim jacket because it’s gonna be a windy day!

.

.

.

Ok we can continue now.

Did you know? The train companies in Japan offer a lot of super value discount packages for day trips, and a lot of tourist may not know as they don’t usually advertise it in English. read more

Kanagawa Ep1: Guide to Yokohama

December 6, 2014
[Note: Very long post!]

To start off, let me give a brief introduction of my recent visit to Japan!

The tourism board of Kanagawa prefecture (神奈川県) has invited me over for a very short stay in Kanagawa so that i could tour around and explore the less discovered hidden gems and promote this part of Greater Tokyo Area. There are many famous cities that fall under the prefecture of Kanagawa, you may have heard and have even visited these cities, without knowing it is actually part of Kanagawa. read more
