Traveling with a baby in Japan

January 29, 2015

I can’t say that i am an expert since i only have 1X baby and 1X experience, but after a 3-week stay in Tokyo with Junya for the first time, i am greatly inspired and would be very happy to share some tips and ideas that i found very useful for me!

There are too many things to blog about so perhaps i would separate them in a few entries maybe by category (eating out/dressing up/locating nursery, etc). This is the first generic one that answers some of the questions many of you have emailed me. read more

Mama & BB Coordinate Tokyo

January 19, 2015

Here’s a collection of oyako coordinate from Japan!

We tried our best to mix and match with limited winter clothing we have. Junya only has one down jacket for the entire 3 weeks XD.

Coordinate 1

One of the earlier days for shopping and lunch at a cafe!

Both went for light colors!

Coordinate 2

Road trip to Hakone, so dress warm and comfy!

😀

Coordinate 3

For a whole day out on a rainy day T__T. Junya is also dressed up for his first date 😛

Right: the complete coordinate! read more

Junya turns 7 months today!

Whoa so many things happened in the past month, it is really the most happening month in his entire life (which is 7 months lol)! There were many firsts for him, and it was also the month full of new milestones! Physically and emotionally he has also changed a lot…

So let’s see what happened in the past month!

First flight

December 21, 2014

Finally! It was time to bring to Junya back to Japan for the first time ♡

The danna and i had been feeling nervous about this for months, since we have heard many stories about how difficult flying with a baby could be. And admittedly i have also had the urge to strangle a few wailing children in the plane before i had one myself T__T. So while very excited, i was also dreading it.

Since we would be away for 3 weeks, we had to send Champon back to Seremban to stay with my mom.

The danna couldn’t go with me so it was also my first time driving such long distance with Junya alone. He was just spacing out/dozing off the entire time so i considered it a success, and hoped that it was a good start to level up to a much longer flight. read more

Orbit Baby!

December 19, 2014

Junya didn’t have a stroller until he was almost 2 months old. His mom simply could not handle the information overload when it comes to baby stroller shopping. I do salute parents who can make up their mind after being handed 300 brochures from different brands and 500 different opinion from friends.

(When i was 7 months pregnant. Leaving the stroller decision to the very confused danna lol)

Some say, you will never go wrong with a sturdy one with large wheels! Some other say, get the lightest one or you will regret that thousands of bucks spent! Some say, just get a in-between so it’s a balance of both! Some say, just get two lah!!! read more

6 months

December 11, 2014

Junya turns 6 months today!

(Also read  first month , second month , third month and fourth month and fifth month here.)

The so called half-birthday.

A lot of families in Japan celebrate their baby’s half birthday, i didn’t know there’s such a thing, until someone told me it’s very likely created by photo studios and other similar companies to make more money out of the gimmick-gullible Japanese parents. Good move. XD

So here’s what happened in the past month! read more

Bloom & Grow 10th Anniversary

November 15, 2014

Bloom & Grow celebrates its 10th anniversary!

Bloom & Grow is one of Asia’s largest maternity and baby product distributors with many brands under them! I blogged about how B&G helped me set up my baby room!

I was at their launch party with B&G’s celebrities and friends!

Other mommy bloggers are there and we had so much in common to talk about! I usually am the super socially awkward one, but it’s so surprising to know that becoming a mom actually made me more sociable!! (With people who can relate la ^^) read more

Junya turns 5 months today!

It is so crazy!

It feels like i’ve juuuust written his 4th month blog post two weeks ago.

(Also read  first month , second month , third month and fourth month here.)

What has happened in the past month:

For Mama

1. Nianness

So we did not get a God-size bed. And not only do i still sleep like a Chinese Zombie, i am sleeping like a Chinese Zombie with a human baby on top.

We have tried to transition him to a cot adjacent to our bed, and he generally sleeps quite well in it. It’s just on the occasional midnights when he wakes , he goes full on complain-mode. read more

Junya turns 4 months today.

What has happened in the past month:

(Also read  first month , second month and third month here.)

For Mama

1. End up still have to sleep like a Chinese zombie after all. -_-

This picture explains it all.

I said i needed a God-size bed. But now that i think of it, even if i get an Infinity bed, i would still end up sleeping like that. Junya will simply roll closer and closer and closer to me. Based on this every day training, i think by next month i could sleep on a tightrope with ease. read more

3 months

September 11, 2014

Today Junya turns 3 months!

Every new month gives me a whole new feeling. (Wrote about his first month and second month here.)

I think by the third month, which is now,  i’m getting the hang of it XD. Everything we do now is less scary (yes, we. I’m less paranoid about explosive poo in my face during diaper opening and he is less afraid of his own mother trying to drown him lol), and i am enjoying it more and more each day.

Surprisingly, most of the things i wrote a month ago doesn’t even apply anymore! For example, I no longer need to put him on the dining table like a dish. And i also get to finish my dinner within 2 hours lolol. Although no.12 and no.13 still happens. XD read more

New job

August 14, 2014

Junya turned 2 months!

Which also means i have assumed the job as a mom for two months now. A job that you can never resign from until the day you die, no matter how the job sucks.

Although my employer doesn’t pay me a single cent, and would spit on me occasionally all the damn time, i find myself quite enjoy this new job.

A lot of people also have been telling me how envious they are that i make motherhood look so effortless. Well, all i can say is that do not trust things you see on Instagram (after all, there is this deception called “filter”). read more

With love from Japan

August 7, 2014

The danna had to go back to Japan for work for two weeks, and this time i couldn’t follow because i think Junya is still too young to handle a mid-summer trip in Japan T_____T

So this was the longest we were apart ever since we got married. My mom came to stay with me while he was away so taking care of the baby was a breeze, but i was mostly bitter about all the nice things i couldn’t have in Japan. Although it was a little worse for him cuz what he couldn’t have was Junya hehehhehe. So i win. read more
