Tokyolife Winter 2016

January 10, 2017

Here I am at 23:36 trying desperately not to fall allseep, but I really really owe this blog a new entry. On my To-Blog-List there are 6 posts that I really wanted to write, and I am clearing with this one first.

Photo post on #Tokyolife, December 2016.

Forever in love.

I have travelled with two kids for at least 7? 8?… (more?) times so far, and one would think that I am probably a #PokeMOM Go pro at this by now, but you never know. I am still trying very hard to level up each time, because the level difficulty also gets increasingly high. read more

Tokyo Life Autumn 2016

November 5, 2016

During our 3 weeks stay in Japan Sep-Oct 2016.

Quite a number of readers told me that they thought it was unbelievable how I handle two kids while traveling between 3 countries. I totally didn’t think so. The danna helps me out a lot and whenever possible he would come back home early to settle dinner, or watch the kids at night while I do some work, etc.

What is unbelievable to me is this.

(Can you imagine if it rains?! T___T)

The danna said this is my life if I were to live in Japan. After sending the kids to school, the mother will go to work herself. She probably wakes up like 5am to prepare the family’s breakfast, lunch boxes, and dinner for the day. Her danna probably works till late night. After work she will have to pick the kids, settle them and also clean the house. read more

Tokyo Life Summer 2016

August 5, 2016

#Tokyolife post!

Sakura’s second time to Tokyo ^^.

We usually take JAL from Changi airport late at night so that the kids can sleep all the way and the danna can go straight to work after landing instead of wasting one extra day on the flight. #workaholic

STAY

We stay at the same apartment but different room every time so it’s quite interesting to experience different kinds of sizes and layouts.

This time around we have a double (queen size) bed instead of a super single. Still it is really small so Junya ended up sleeping on the edge of the bed T_T. read more

Tokyo Life 2016: Shopping & Omiyage!

March 22, 2016

A post on shopping and souvenirs in Tokyo!!

Having stayed in Singapore for a short period of time put many things in perspective.

First of all, when in Tokyo doing groceries:

OMG WHY EVERYTHING SO CHEAP OK BUY ALLLLLLLL.

Remember the $22 broccoli in Singapore? Well I can feed a whole farm of bunnies here.

My grocery!!! I can even splurge on one of the most atas ranges and YET still at least half the price cheaper than Japanese groceries in Singapore.

Ibarakiss Ichigo from Ibaraki Prefecture for like $8, grapes for like $3, super premium Mexican avocado for $4 and also some super sweet fruit tomato for $4, which Singapore sells at $12. Siaooooooo. read more

Tokyo Life (Spring 2016)

March 6, 2016

So. I feel like once you become a mother, traveling is like a playing a warlord game, where you have to clear each stage and advance to the next level and sometimes you die (and then undie) in between, with the enemies coming at you all. The. Damn. Time. And random traps wherever you go.

Level 1

Game started when I travelled to Japan in Spring 2014, while I was 7 month pregnant. I could enjoy it like how I did before pregnancy, except that I also had to watch my diet, take enough rest, fuss over my wardrobe and bring extra suit case for all the baby shopping. It was like a trial game to practice for the real deal. read more

Tokyo Metro: Beauty Trip Tokyo 2

February 12, 2016

Read my Tokyo Metro: Beauty Trip Tokyo Part 1 here!

This is the second day, and it is still all about beauty and health!

Kimono Experience at Asakusa

Gaienmae is a convenient place to stay if you love Ginza, Ueno and Asakusa!!

All i did was walk out from my hotel, take the Ginza Line and ride allllll the way to the last station Asakusa. You can even take a nap if you want haha.

Asakusa!!!

Apparently this is one of the most popular spot for photo taking, because you get to capture the traditional Japanese temple AND the futuristic Sky Tree all in one frame. read more

Tokyo Metro: Beauty Trip Tokyo 1

February 11, 2016

Japan post!

This blog post is about traveling with Tokyo Metro (Tokyo subway/Tokyo Chikatetsu) with a very attractive tourist price around Tokyo city and…… how to safe money. 😀

The theme this time around is “beauty”, which is one of the hottest travel themes in japan right now (remember my Beauty Journey filming at West Japan last year?). Well, i can’t blame them. Being in Japan alone already makes one feel more beautiful. #truestory. Just ask any vain bloggers who has visited Japan recently. The air and water makes your hair softer, and selfies looks better too with non-greasy make up! read more

Tokyo Life (Autumn 2015)

September 28, 2015

Family trip to Tokyo again!!!

TRAVEL

This time around we have a special guest staying with us for the first week!

Actually special guest means my new baby sitter + personal hair stylist lolol.

No la. Amy came to Tokyo for Number76’s study holiday. She’s gonna come back with new hair witchcraft that’s gonna create a bang lololol bad pun sorry.

My favorite Japan Airlines as usual. And first experience for Amy! Learn the JAL’s omotenashi service for her salon!

Junya almost cannot fit the bassinet this time. He has grown so long he has to sleep with his knees curved. And i must bring him on more more more trips next year because once he is 2 years old we will have to pay for child air fare liao lolol kiasu much. read more

Hair Salon NALU, Omotesando Tokyo

September 7, 2015

After coming back from Hawaii, i wanted to get a hair cut before going back to Malaysia.

NALU (Tokyo hair salon, English speaking and tourist friendly!), just above 76CAFE, will always be special because it was the birth place of Number76.

It has been around for 14 years now among all the other salons in the most competitive hairstyling territory in Tokyo – Omotesando/Harajuku. There are more than 200 hair salons in Harajuku itself. @.@

Here’s the menu! The price is actually just about the same (except cut) as Number76. Getting your hair done by the authentic locals in Japan is no longer an unaffordable luxury. read more

number76 in Tokyo!

September 6, 2015

I’ve never had so many friends all at once in Tokyo before!!!

Team Number76 in Tokyo!!!

Back in June Number76 had a company trip to Tokyo, and since there are more than 60 staff now they had to split it in two groups, 30 each week and i joined both group for their outings XD

People like Amy and Steve are Tokyo experts now, but there were many staff who set their foot in the land of Japan for the first time, so it was all very exciting!!!

It was Junya’s first tme seeing so many cute fashionable girls at once too lol. On the left side is Yui chan’s (NALU assistant) blond tresses and on the right is Sue Ann’s purple locks. XD read more

Totoro Cream Puff in Tokyo!

August 13, 2015

Have you seen this Totoro Cream Puff before?

Yesssssss. It’s #onlyinJapan.

Quite a few of my friends visited this little mysterious cafe so during my trip to Japan this early summer, i decided to drop by!

It’s getting late now (22:55. Yea i know. By my boring mom standard, it is late.) so it’s gonna be a captioned quick post! There’s a video at the end of the post, though, so hope it illustrates better! 🙂

Junya woke up in a super good mood that day <3 read more

Eat Tokyo with Baby (Part 3)

July 25, 2015

Part 2 here.  Part 1 here.

So so so!! It’s Tokyo time!!! This was our trip to Japan in May/June 2015. Junya was about to turn 1 so it was his last few weeks as a baby hehe. Here are some of the restaurants we have been!

1. Malaychan

Actually we didn’t try this, but i thought it would be useful for Malaysian readers especially Muslims travelers!

It’s a Halal Malaysian restaurant at Ikebukuro! It’s supposed to be a pun for “Belacan” i think lol.

If ever you miss home and some comfort food (almost never happen for me XD), do drop by Malaychan and let me know if it is good! read more
