Cheesie’s Grocery Shopping List

October 26, 2019

Ok so I have been too busy to write a proper blog post, but I think many might appreciate a simple post like this!

Yesterday was my flight back home and as usual, #AuntyCheesie was at work. Dashed to the nearest supermarket and drugstore and brought back my usual grocery stock. Instead of throwing them into stories on IG, I think it’s time for a blog post!

So here it is.

Okayama Travel: Affordable shopping

December 2, 2018

My previous post on Okayama: Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter

Ok. Until today, people are still telling me that they cannot find any affordable fashion items in Japan. I just want to ask, have you guys been going to the wrong places? Did you only visit Ginza? Haha.

Omiyage Spring 2017

April 15, 2017

Quick omiyage shopping haul post! The usual every time I come back from Japan ^^.

Most of the items are from combini, Akachanhonpo (baby products), Don Quijote!

First there’s world yummiest granola – Furugura from Calbee. The usual version is sold in Singapore but I have not seen these editions yet. On the left is 20% less carb version and on the right is a seasonal edition Tropical Coconut flavor.

Everyone’s favorite snack Cheeza in diffrent cheese flavors.

Hunted for this eye cream for a friend as she said it is quite good, so got myself a tube too. It’s only 1000+ yen!! read more

Tokyo Station & Shinkansen

February 18, 2017

This post is about Tokyo Station. Yes there’s a railway station called “Tokyo Station” in Tokyo, and it is the busiest train station (with most trains – the one with the most people is Shinjuku Station) in Japan with over 3,000 trains operating everyday! How crazy does that sound!

Well, Tokyo Station is more than just a station. It is a small city on its own. Even if you are not using it to move to another city/prefecture, it is worth traveling all the way to Tokyo Station just to spend an afternoon eating and shopping. read more

Tokyo Omiyage Autumn 2016

October 13, 2016

Quick blog post while Sakura is napping and Junya is doing his puzzles! Just got back to Singapore last night and half-unpacked our luggages and snapped these pictures to share ^^

1.Konnyaku Jelly

My favorite because they are so yummy! Love the refreshing fruity taste <3 The one in red is cereal though haha.

2. Snacks

Cheeza has specialty versions like Avocadoza, Ebeeza, this time they have Gomaaza!! One pack of Gomaaza is made of 3000 black sesame. Just how much exactly is 3000 pieces of sesame? The Glico website has an interesting post on this. read more

Tokyo Life 2016: Shopping & Omiyage!

March 22, 2016

A post on shopping and souvenirs in Tokyo!!

Having stayed in Singapore for a short period of time put many things in perspective.

First of all, when in Tokyo doing groceries:

OMG WHY EVERYTHING SO CHEAP OK BUY ALLLLLLLL.

Remember the $22 broccoli in Singapore? Well I can feed a whole farm of bunnies here.

My grocery!!! I can even splurge on one of the most atas ranges and YET still at least half the price cheaper than Japanese groceries in Singapore.

Ibarakiss Ichigo from Ibaraki Prefecture for like $8, grapes for like $3, super premium Mexican avocado for $4 and also some super sweet fruit tomato for $4, which Singapore sells at $12. Siaooooooo. read more

I’m back from Japan!!! With lots of Omiyage! <3

I went to 3 prefectures this time in Tohoku, so here are all the specialty for each prefecture, hopefully it will serve as a guide for souvenir shopping when you go to Tohoku in the future. ^^

I would have bought a lot moreeeeee if i wasn’t heavily pregnant and had to lug all the stuff all over 3 different prefectures.

Here goes! Starting with Iwate.

Iwate Prefecture

One of the most popular souvenirs you can get from Iwate prefecture is Nambu Senbei. I visited their store in Ninohe, Iwate Prefecture so i bought lots of stuff! read more

Baby Item Shopping List in Japan!

October 21, 2015

Today i’m blogging about my baby item shopping haul from Japan!!!

If you are into health and convenience (then again, which mom isn’t???) and maybe some kawaii, Japan will be your shopping heaven for your babies/kids.

Ever since i had Junya, 80% of my luggage space are reserved for Junya’s items. Cannot resist.

Before that here are some things you will need to know if you are going to Japan with your baby/young kids! I may have mentioned it before but here they are again:

Tokyo Omiyage (Feb 2015)

February 15, 2015

I’m so confident that there are gonna be more posts like this so i added the month and year. 😛

Read my previous Tokyo Omiyage (Jan 2015) post here!

So i just came back from my solo trip to Japan for about 5 days. It’s pretty much a pampering girly beauty + shopping trip X everything Hello Kitty (will blog more about it!). And i bought tons of stuff!!

And the thing is that i noticed that now that i am a mother and a (sort 0f) housewife, the things i shop for in Japan is also completely different -_-. I bought zero clothes for myself this time (so strange, i didn’t even think about it), and when i go to the malls, i go to do groceries and visit the baby department -___-. read more

Kaimono ippai

January 14, 2012

If there’s one motto of our #addiction trip to Japan, it will be:

BUY ALL THE STUFF!!!

I think we ended up only using 50% of our original luggage content fffffuuuuu. Seriously, if i ever go to Japan again i will just bring an adapter and an empty luggage wtf.

We arrived on the 2nd Jan, which is also the second day of Japanese New Year. Normally fukubukuro (lucky bags) starts selling on the 1st and you could see crazy lines of people queuing up in front of their favorite shops.

After checking in to hotel at Shinsaibashi, Osaka, the first thing we did was going to OPA (a big shopping mall) to shop. read more
