To the beach with Junya!

August 27, 2015

A photo post on Japan in June 2015!

It was summer in Japan and it was time to hit the beach!

The danna had surfing itch for a long long time since the last time he surfed was in Bali. Most of the NALU staff (beach boys!!!) are surfers too so the they rented a van and we headed to one of the surfing spots in Ibaraki prefecture.

We began our journey 3:30AM and sunrise was at 4AM!

Reached!

JunJun with Dejima san and his surfboard!

When i grow up i want to be beach boy.

Gomi san and i and JunJun were the non-surfers so we just guard our turf lol. read more

Totoro Cream Puff in Tokyo!

August 13, 2015

Have you seen this Totoro Cream Puff before?

Yesssssss. It’s #onlyinJapan.

Quite a few of my friends visited this little mysterious cafe so during my trip to Japan this early summer, i decided to drop by!

It’s getting late now (22:55. Yea i know. By my boring mom standard, it is late.) so it’s gonna be a captioned quick post! There’s a video at the end of the post, though, so hope it illustrates better! 🙂

Junya woke up in a super good mood that day <3 read more

Tokyo Disneysea with Junya

August 7, 2015

So so so!! It is Junya’s Disneyland debut! Unless you count the time he visited Disneysea when he was still in my tummy. Then this is second time hahaha.

A day before Junya’s birthday, i decided to join Number76 Malaysian team’s Tokyo Disney visit! The team was split into the Disneyland group and Disneysea group. I really wanted to get a Duffy for JunJun so i followed Amy who was the Disneysea team leader haha.

Disney #ootd

Bought a steering wheel for Junya’s stroller to get him occupied in case he wonders why he can’t sit on those Disney rides. At least he has his own ride lol. read more

Mother Farm, Chiba

August 5, 2015

This was on 11 June, Junya’s first birthday!

We didn’t have any birthday celebration for him but we did plan to go somewhere nice where Junya gets to enjoy too, just the 3 of us.

Mama & bb coordinate ❤︎

JunJun is wearing his 1-year-old baby Montsuki, a formal kimono for this special occasion!

First we went to 76CAFE Omotesando for breakfast and to meet all the Number76 from Malaysia for their company trip to Japan!!

My lunch: Chicken Over Rice, my current obsession in 76CAFE. The first time i tried it was when QiuQiu ordered it last December and was instantly smitten. ❤︎ read more

The meaning of Itadakimasu

July 26, 2015

Many of us love Japanese food.

If you are a little familiar with Japanese culture, you may have noticed that Japanese people say “Itadakimasu” before they start eating at the table.

You put both your hands together and with a slight bow, you say Itadakimasu, and then pick up the chopsticks and start eating. We practice this at our home every day as the danna is really strict with table manners. Junya will have to do it too lol.

Anyway, people usually translate Itadakimasu as “Bon Appetit” or “Let’s eat” (Or in Hokkien “lai lai lai jiak jiak jiak!!!” lolol), which is correct, but doesn’t reflect its true meaning. read more

Eat Tokyo with Baby (Part 3)

July 25, 2015

Part 2 here.  Part 1 here.

So so so!! It’s Tokyo time!!! This was our trip to Japan in May/June 2015. Junya was about to turn 1 so it was his last few weeks as a baby hehe. Here are some of the restaurants we have been!

1. Malaychan

Actually we didn’t try this, but i thought it would be useful for Malaysian readers especially Muslims travelers!

It’s a Halal Malaysian restaurant at Ikebukuro! It’s supposed to be a pun for “Belacan” i think lol.

If ever you miss home and some comfort food (almost never happen for me XD), do drop by Malaychan and let me know if it is good! read more

Baby Friendly Cafes in Tokyo

July 19, 2015

Chano Mama, Isetan Shinjuku

One of the most popular baby-friendly cafes in Tokyo is the one i have blogged about before (but haven’t visited), Chano Mama, located at 6F, Isetan Shinjuku.

In fact, baby-friendly is not really the accurate term to describe Chano Mama. It is a Baby Cafe, because without one, you are actually not really allowed to dine in.

So yea, it is a mama and baby heaven.

I went there with my mamatomo (mommy friend) Junna and her baby Ryoga.

It’s extremely popular so during weekends there’s usually a line, and if you are lucky, you will get a sofa bed seat like this: read more

#Lunchforjunya in Japan

July 4, 2015

Staying for a month in Tokyo with the danna and Junya means allllll the happiness in the world, but i was also secretly dreading the trip for one reason.

Junya was turning 1 year old when we were in Japan. That also means that he is eating 3 full proper meals now. To be honest, i wasn’t very much ready to prepare all 3 meals for him, every single day. I’m ok to do that back home in KL, but we are in Tokyoooooooooo baybeh! What about sightseeing!!! Shopping!!! Eating out at yummy restaurant every single day!!! Go out the whole day without thinking about the boiling pots!!! read more

Junya’s first date

March 27, 2015

(This was back in December, 2014 in Tokyo!)

Junya was about to go on his first date!

After the meet-up with Sayaka and Anna, we decided to meet again when Junya is finally here so that the two of them soulmates can meet for the first time.

To cut the story short (long story is on the link above), Junya and Anna was born on the exact same day, so their mommies feel that it’s sort of fated! When we chatted all these while, we also found out that they have too many similarities!! Of course the age is exactly the same, so it’s very likely they will hit milestones at the same time. But things like falling sick on the same day… that’s just like they are lovers on another star in another paralel world XD read more

Eat Tokyo With Baby (Part 2)

March 23, 2015

To continue from Part 1!

This was back in December, 2014 during our stay in Tokyo.

The danna had work most of first and second week so i braved myself to go out alone with Junya to catch up with some friends!

11. HARBS, Lumine Ikebukuro

RinRin was the first person who came to meet me up all the way at Lumine Ikebukuro! It’s just right across my apartment so it was really easy for me! (If i forget anything we could just go back to my place)

Harb is a chain cafe that serves light brunches and also cakes. They are baby-friendly, however we had to wait about 15 minutes as they only allocate certain seats for guests with strollers (so that it won’t be in the way). read more

Eat Tokyo With Baby (Part 1)

March 18, 2015

What is Tokyo without having ALLLLLLL the awesome food!!

Before i had Junya, i could eat the entire Tokyo if i wanted. The only problem was the space of my stomach. But not now when i have a little one glued to me 24/7. My choice were limited, i had to think thrice before deciding where go eat. My whole knowledge about dining in Tokyo was corrupted and had to start from ground zero.

Or so i thought.

It turned out, the only thing i didn’t have was probably tequila. I fulfilled and checked all items off on my Tokyo Must-Eat list, including sushi, ramen, yakiniku, hotpot, pasta, gyutan…… It was quite amazing! We went to all the restaurants we couldn’t previously fathom having a tiny baby around at, and we survived (gracefully). read more

Tokyo Omiyage (Feb 2015)

February 15, 2015

I’m so confident that there are gonna be more posts like this so i added the month and year. 😛

Read my previous Tokyo Omiyage (Jan 2015) post here!

So i just came back from my solo trip to Japan for about 5 days. It’s pretty much a pampering girly beauty + shopping trip X everything Hello Kitty (will blog more about it!). And i bought tons of stuff!!

And the thing is that i noticed that now that i am a mother and a (sort 0f) housewife, the things i shop for in Japan is also completely different -_-. I bought zero clothes for myself this time (so strange, i didn’t even think about it), and when i go to the malls, i go to do groceries and visit the baby department -___-. read more
