What’s better than being selected as the ambassador for the tourism project of your favorite country?

Promoting Japan tourism is like my life calling so it’s really cool that finally i’m doing it officially for Cool Japan, a project by Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI).

Sorry this post is like 2 months outdated, but during my stay in Tokyo, i spent a few days with other Cool Japan ambassadors from other countries like Taiwan and Thailand. There are so many fashion parties in Tokyo it is crazy!!!

Yesterday (on an unrelated note it was also White Day in Japan) it was a non-stop party day for RinRin and me, and instead of spamming Instagram i’m posting all the pictures here!

This time i had to come back to Tokyo all by myself before the danna joins me later because i had to renew my residence visa before it expires. And i will be here for a month so i rented a small apartment and live like everyone else would in Tokyo.

The living spaces in Tokyo are miserable, but you get used to it. I was just mostly very very very very happy to get out of the whole haze situation in KL that had made me depressed and angry for a long time. All i wanted was to have the freedom of breathing some decent air and not feel like i’m  trapped indoor indefinitely. read more

Actually it is in fish eyes!

So we are back in Japan after what felt like centuries!!! My pregnancy nausea was so bad that i was secretly worried that the whole world will crumble as i no longer can enjoy all my fav food in Japan.

But… it is Japan after all.

The danna asked what i wanted to eat for the first meal. It took me forever to answer. How to decide!!! I want EVERYTHING! So he drove us straight to Tsukiji Fish Market after we landed in Narita early in the morning. read more

I’m back to Japan!!

I have no idea why but each year i come back it gets even colder. This December is so cold  i cannot wear anything less than 2 layers of Uniqlo heat tech, a sweater and the thickest down in the closet. At the rate the climate is fucking us up like this, 5 years later Malaysia will start snowing.

Uoriki Fish Restaurant

This is my fav fish shop in Shibuya!

In the afternoon they serve grilled fish set meal, and night time is sashimi set!

You pick the set meal tags you want from the wall, and bring it upstairs with you!

And it is craaaazy value for money! For 1000 yen (RM30+) you get fresh fish (in this picture it is Tuna Karaage), unlimited rice, unlimited hijiki (black seaweed thing) unlimited clam miso soup, unlimited tea, and a small starter.

I cannot stress enough how much i love oden!!!

The day i arrived in Japan (end of September) was also the day the convenient stores started to introduce Oden again, due to the sudden weather change!

And then Family Mart was having an Oden sales!!!! All items only 70 yen!

Among all convenient stores, I love Family Mart the most (and Lawson, because they have the most variety of stuff), because it just has the best oden.

And also, IT GIVES YOU FREE FOOD.

I bought a drink from Family Mart and at the cashier, the shop staff smiley-ly asked, “would you like some free nugget?” read more

So on the third day of our Yakult media trip to Japan, i get to be a…. Yakult Lady.

What is a Yakult Lady?

A Yakult Lady is a woman who delivers Yakult products to customers’ homes by push carts, bicycles, motorcycles or cars. There are more than 40,000 Yakult Ladies in Japan, and over 2500 centers.

Did you know that there are also Yakult Ladies in Malaysia? I didn’t! I was very surprised to learn about that.

Little did i know, Yakult Lady is actually one of the most important part about Yakult. They sell more Yakult through Yakult Ladies throughout Japan than they do in the supermarkets. Impressive! read more

Haro!

Today i wanna talk about Yakult! It is a long post (i promise i will have an interesting story), so have some patience with me! (Also it involves Japan, haha bonus point for you!)

INTRO

If you haven’t already known, Yakult is a cultured milk drink/probiotic drink that is very, very, very famous in Japan. Actually make it the world! It is sold in 33 countries in the world, millions and millions of bottles are consumed everyday!

Of course, i myself have become a big fan of Yakult recently, especially since the danna made Yakult a must-buy item in the grocery list. We drink at least a bottle every day because he has managed to convince me how beneficial it is to our health (he didn’t really explained why, i just trusted my husband lolol), so every bento i make now always comes with a bottle of Yakult. read more
