Eat Tokyo Aug 2013

August 31, 2013

So i was back in Japan for a very short 3 days! Not even enough to warm Japanese toilet seats wtf. Eh wait. They are already warm.

It was also the first time i traveled to Japan without the danna. It was such a strange feeling. I was very very happy to be back, and when i left the airport i felt sad as usual, but more than sad i also felt super happy to be back cuz i miss him so much wtf. It was all very confusing lol.

I had to play an amateur tour guide for the work team because i was the only one who can speak Japanese. And now i think maybe i can just quit blogging and show people around Tokyo for a living, cuz turned out it was such and easy job. Everybody seemed to enjoy the food of a random restaurant i picked! It’s most of the time hit-and-hit lol. read more

When life gives you bitter gourd

July 11, 2013

Today is the danna’s birthday, we decided to go for something simple, so we went to his favorite Okinawan restaurant.

It’s an old, narrow little izakaya in Shibuya.

And here’s what we had:

1

Okinawa Shikuwasa juice. No, the owner isn’t that stingy lol. I almost finished drinking it before i realized i haven’t had a picture of this yummy fruit juice.

2

Salted cucumber.

3

Stir fried Goya Champuru (bitter gourd) with tofu and egg.

4

Stir fried stomach with leek and mushroom read more

❤︎47 Prefectures❤︎, Why Japan Is Awesome

Hi world, you may end now.

July 6, 2013

Hi. This is not really a real blog post.

About 1-2 years ago i had a tweet that says,

“i will give one year of my life just to see Nakata Yasutaka spin live.”

It was sort of a wrong thing to ask for.

Because i think i have just used up my entire life time last night at Sound Museum VISION Tokyo.

I died.

Sometimes the universe answers you in different ways.

So guys, this is not really a blog post, because it’s not really written by me.

It’s written by the dead me sent to you all on this blog via phantom morse code. From World of Fantasy. read more

Hanami

May 4, 2013

This is a #backinJapan post!

Rinrin and i joined Number76 Omotesando’s hanami (sakura viewing) at this park near Ghibli Studio during (almost finishing) sakura season. It was one of the last few good days before the crazy storm came and blew away all the sakura.

Eat Tokyo!

April 17, 2013

After fashion, of course there’s food! 😀

Every time i post a food picture on Instagram, confirm i will receive at least 5 “ewww“s and “gross“s no matter what food it is! (including Mango shaved ice, believe it or not!!)

But to be fair to people who are not familiar with Asian food (most of the commenters are Western), it indeed might look a bit gross. But here are some of the noms i had in Tokyo, and i will introduce them! 😀

#1

First meal in the morning!

It was cold and rainy the first morning and i had to rush to Yoyogi Park to meet RinRin for hanami (sakura viewing) so this is an instant tummy warmer! It’s called Corn Potashu (corn soup), and bought it for 90 yen from the combini (convenient store). read more

Sakura and more things pink

April 9, 2013

Hello i’m home!! ^^

It’s been such a wonderful two weeks of all things pink so this post is a compilation of them all!

You can also read last year’s blog post about sakura and all things pink.

Anyway, this is the mission i set every year:

I feel so grateful and blessed every time i think about how i managed to catch so much blissful pinkness last year, and do it again this year.

Most of my friends in Tokyo were so busy with work (including the danna, and excluding RinRin, because it was spring break for her so she became my Hanami buddy for two whole weeks) that they didn’t even have time to sit down properly to sigh at the sight of falling pink petals, drinking, smiling and laughing with their loved ones. Catching an occasional glance of a blooming sakura tree was like a luxury for them. read more

Yozakura

March 30, 2013

Rinrin and i are on a hanami (sakura viewing) spree!

We have been walkin 10 hours a day non stop from 10am to midnight, 3 days in a row, just to catch ALL the sakura in Tokyo before it is gone. And yesterday was Disneyland! Today is a rest day so i have some time to update :3

And i also like to click on #sakura on Instagram just to see different sakura in a different location posted by a different person. They are all so beautiful.

I think this time of the year (end of Mar, early Apr) really is the best time to come to Japan, if you plan to come to Japan and still deciding which season is better. read more

What have you done to me…

January 7, 2013

Japan?

I’m starting to think that it has become my new religion.

It is starting to scare me that i have become so insanely religious that i can’t stop thinking and talking about it all. the. damn. time, to the extend that i am also preaching this new found faith to everyone around me (including all of you reading this right now). To the point my friend warned her roommate to stop talking to me, else she would be brainwashed and lose all her money (buying air tickets etc) wtf.

My devotion to this new belief is shocking even to myself. I apologize in advance in case anyone here find my incessant preaching revolting, and that i have become this evangelist who gives sermon about how Japanese air cleanses my soul. If that is the case, you can maybe skip this and read an old post about… a dish washer. Or something. Unless the dish washer is made in Japan. Then i apologize in advance, twice. read more
