How much do you know Japan?
Just came back from KLIA. My hatred for airport has just level-upped. Especially when it’s so damn far and taxi fare so damn expensive.
But it had been really wonderful. Perfect almost.

FML.
Today i cried because i screwed up the chicken mom brought for me. I dunno. I just pan fried it with yakiniku sauce and even pandai pandai sprinkled some rosemary onto it. And it tasted atrocious. Screw Kenko Diet Plum. The best diet is to eat my cooking everyday.
And then i realized how useless i am. I can’t even cook a bloody chicken thigh (yea still got some blood coming out). I disposed the body and washed the dishes while crying.
Things i brought back.

Japanese curry (amaguchi), Japanese curry (chukara), Japanese curry (karaguchi), Beef Hayashi and Delhi curry.

Mentaiko and tarako and mentaiko and mentaiko and tarako and tarako and tarako.
What the hell am i gonna do with these things!!! They are just making me bloody sad. I don’t wanna eat mentaiko pasta alone, you know?!?! (No you can’t come and eat with me. Doesn’t work like that.)
Ok i eat curry alone.

Cheapest instant curry from Topvalu. 77 yen (RM3). Just heat it up and pour it over rice. Or next to rice. Not gonna be bothered about technicality.

The most delicious crap-looking stuff i have ever eaten.
Looks like my life too.
He’s flying 7 hours here to see me tomorrow. I couldn’t even convince him not to. I reckoned it is fair, though, since i did just that 2 weeks ago. But i really don’t know what to make of it.
My lurve affair with Japan might have ended, but i am trying to distract myself with something fun and engaging. So i am now very busy to build up my Lurve O’ Meter, a facebook application by Lurve Multigrain chips.
And it makes me feel good to share, spread and sprinkle some lurve to everyone. To get my thoughts out. My goal is to be one of the Most Lurve’d People (and win myself RM5,000 cash).

Just Install this LURVE application in to your own Facebook profile, and play kao kao with it during the contest period of 6th July-28th August 2009 to accumulate as much Lurve O’ Meter points to win cash!!!
There are 4 games you can play, and each time you play you get certain points.
1. Discover Lurve

Is a Lurve personality test.
My result:

Haha ya meh. Quite true la (paiseh). Sounds very bimbotically me (ish).
2. Sprinkle Lurve
Where you pick a photo, sprinkle it with some Lurve bits. You get 5pts for creating a pimped photo and 2pts whenever you share it with a friend.

“Mommy, can i has cheeseburger?”

This is a Purikura (sticker machine) picture. Haha you know you decorate it with a pen afterwards, but here i glam it up with some Lurve party elements!
3. Spread Lurve

I very generous ok! Unfortunately i can only send my Lurve to 12 people a day. i will keep doing it everyday!
4. Share Lurve
This is my favorite! 10pts whenever you submit a story.

You can vote for your favorite Lurve story and each time your story gets a rating, you earn 1pt. So if you like you can vote for me!
Here are the prizes:
Grand Prize: RM5,000 CASH
2nd Prize (x2): RM2,000 CASH
3rd Prize (x8): RM500 CASH
Now go make some lurve on Facebook!
Things i found in Don Quijote, my favorite store in Japan. It’s a great discount store and it opens till 3am in the morning.

Cheesus Crust. It’s some diet pill that will make you slim.

But i don’t understand why any girl would want to look like Jesus. I scared i grow hair and become bushy. Perhaps if you take enough pills, you would obtain the almighty Jesus powers and turn dust into loose diamonds that you have always really longed for (always pleasure to have the real thing!). But the discovery is a secret to be kept from others. Shhh.

Nipple Pheromone. Or so it read. It’s the latest nipple tape. Nipple tape is the new nipple tape. (Now that’s confusing. When i say nipple tape now–what turf is it?)
The only entry related to Nipple Pheromone on google is this:
Using ovariectomized New Zealand white rabbits and the nipple-search behavior of pups as a bioassay, we evaluated the capacity of prolactin to stimulate the emission of an odor signal that allows newborn pups to locate the mother’s nipples and suckle.
Oh i see. So like, it’s to attract other people to suck on it one la.
(Who turf needs that? Seriously?)

Update:
The best thing about a Holiyear—

I need to foster a better relationship with my house.
I dunno. I really love them but i think i shopped too much. And the good thing is you can always sell them, right.

There.

Colorful tartan hat.

Bought them during my trip in Edinburgh and i have only used them a few times, still very new!!
If you are interested to bid for these items, go to Cheesie’s Wardrobe. I’m starting it at a low price too.
Ok irrelevant photo time. Just playing with photoshop.

In our little apartment in Edinburgh

Another one

Outside the apartment.

This was Selfridges sales day!

Before meeting Carolyn.
Fashion in Japan is driving me crazy. I learnt so many things. I really think everyone who loves fashion should at least go to Japan once when they are still young to dress up kao kao.
If you like my Ness bag + hat to have a look here ok.
what i said about how things decide to take a drastic turn just when you expect them to head the way you want them to.
i almost booked a flight back to KL. that was what happened. (edit: i actually booked a flight home. That was what actually happened.)
it was like Jenga. you build it up just so it could fall apart.
you pull one out. i pull one out. you pull another one out. and i pull another one out. until it is full of holes all over.
so you pull one out safely and then feel relieved to leave the shit up to everyone else to screw it up, it goes one big round and comes back to you. now it is your turn to screw it all up.
it’s amazing, this bloody Jenga thing. just when you think it is impossible anymore, that this is the last straw (or block, whatever) that will make everything collapse, you manage to pull one out. and another one. and another one. an another one. it went on about like a hundred million times. there will always be another last straw (or block, whatever, really).
but.
no matter how much you try to be careful and cautious and gentle with it, it will come all tumbling down in the end. which is kind of the whole point of why you have built it in the first place. it is ironic really.
and i knew that was the last one to pull out.
for sure.

What i realized so far, is that, as a human, we need a break from everything. Including a break from a break.
That is it. Holiyear has been a major success so far. Somehow everything just happened, i didn’t even plan them on purpose. They came one after another.
And then everything started falling apart. I felt like a major fail. I took too long a break. Now I need a break from my holiyear.
Moderation. I was overdoing it, i admit. Stretching it to the max. Somehow it kinda took its toll on me. It was my fault. I am guilty as charged.
What am i gonna do now?
I just twitted this but i’m gonna say it again. Someone said if we are in a dilemma not knowing what to do, the hard way is normally the right way out.
I really wish he was wrong. But I think it is true.
Supposed to only come back on 21st July but decided to changed my flight very last minute. That’s 2 weeks earlier than my scheduled return.
Don’t ask.
Anyway, had been flying budget airlines all the while and this was my first MAS flight in a very long time, and was completely overwhelmed. I forgot how luxurious it could be.
I was like OMG THEY ACTUALLY GIVE PILLOWS! OMG BLANKIES. OMG FREE FOOD. OMFG YOU CAN ACTUALLY ASK FOR WATER WHEN YOU ARE THIRSTY WHAT TURF.
After flying low-cost airlines for such a long time, i realized how much effort normal airlines have put in to make their passengers feel great. Not to mention to compare with budget airlines. And i was very touched! And i felt very very bad about not finishing the food (it was nice, but i was just not that hungry). I mean, it was such a waste! And it was for sure not easy to prepare all these things. And the maintanence and stuff. I wonder if they actually make much profit at all. Flight wasn’t even half full when i flew to Kansai.
Even if I am flying with the more premium air carriers like Malaysian airlines, I will always use a Cheap Flight search facility to make sure I get the best deal on my air travel, that way the free food, drinks, pillows and all the other luxuries taste and feel even better!
Very emo. But don’t ask.
The transformations are done.
I must say i am really really impressed. 5 messiest rooms in Malaysia, now i can say that i don’t mind staying in any of them.
So, let’s have a look of the 5 entries!

2. Liew Li Ping
Whoa, this one i quite impressed. Her room looks really livable now. Very neat and i love the pure white concept.^^

3. Yvonne Mah
Her old 5-in-1 home office really appalled me. Yvonne is currently sharing her bedroom with her 4 kids (age 10, 6, 3 and 20 mths). 0.O. She would like to win the prize because the extra funds would help to replace her old, donated, worn out TV cabinet and sofa.

4. Shiau Lee
I kinda like her makeover too. Simply love how the Expedit bookshelves fit into the corner, and the clever use of the Ekby shelf and brakets. Good job!

5. Joe
Finally, Joe. Joe,oh Joe. He left a comment saying that he has about 3000 cds, about 400 books and not including mags, over two dozen shoes, and about 250 pair of jeans.
The pictures above are just a summary of their makeovers. Drop by www.IKEA.com.my to watch their makeover video! From the original mess to the process of transformation to the final makeover. It’s quite a wowzer! You can also learn a few tips from their makeover, stuff they purchase to help them with better storage.
And then, remember to vote for your favorite makeover (you can only vote one, and i already have my choice^^) and stand a chance to win IKEA vouchers worth RM50!!
Anyway, i’m not sure if you are interested, but recently i did beautify my home cheese home a little. Stuff all from IKEA, and here are some of my proudest purchase.

Remember my shoes?
I have 30 odd pairs and i seriously need something to store them up. I spent the longest time looking for the right shoe rack until i want to cry (really one). Either too big or too ugly. I almost wanted to give up, either i throw away 25 pairs of them or just leave my shoes lying around the floor forever.
Until i went to IKEA and had a brilliant idea. You know what i did?
I bought the Effektiv book shelf. Who says you must need a shoe rack for shoes?! Ha! I’m so clever.

With frosted glass door. This remains to be the best investment ever for my shoes.
Also wanna share some of my favorite items from IKEA:

This is a Komplement drawer with dividers for accessories storage. I love compartments!

The Expedit bookcase acts as a divider between the entrance and my living room (keep all the good fengshui in!!!). The plus point is that i can also put some odd items there that don’t fit into my wardrobe/cabinet.

Oh. This is my fav make up rack ever. It’s Anordna LYX storage unit.
I can’t believe how amazing it is, with just the right compartment for lip gloss, eyeshadows and other stuff. Love it!!!
Ok. That’s all! Until i win myself some vouchers by voting for the contestants HERE!
Hmmm. I kinda ran out of pictures on Japan. Here are many many big pictures for you from Edinburgh!
Edinburgh is a beautiful city! I loooooove!!! Very very Goth. And there are plenty of Goth shops and people dressing up Goth everywhere!
Just have to excuse my atrocious ensemble a bit throughout this entry though i normally don’t pair my outfits liddat but it was really too cold.
Some free tour thing. Basically it is a 3-hour walking tour where they bring you around, tell you stories (mostly gruesome stories about tortured prisoners and ghost, didn’t think so grimly about a city so beautiful as Edinburgh), and… erm, that’s it.
In the end you are supposed to tip them la. But Vene and i escaped half way so we didn’t have to pay. Very mean hor. But the tour guide was really boring so…
Yea.
Took this picture then only realized got a cute guy in our free tour. Aiya should have like, talked to him.
Grass in Scotland VERY GREEN!
Pork sandwich that cost like £4.50. But the skin very crispy one!
Ya the meal sure looks yummy!!! 😀
Scottish flag!
Lovely buildings
This is taken outside where we stayed. We stayed in a holiday apartment. I think each of us paid about 30 quid a night, very nice place, clean and comfy.
But apparently it is one of the most haunted place in Edinburgh, because every 10PM sharp at night (the sun hadn’t even set then), there will be a group of people from the Ghost Tour gathering up right outside our apartment and tell ghost stories. FML.
A dead end right outside our haunted apartment.
City and sky.
Ugliest dog in Edinburgh, but very adorable. If you know what i mean!
Scott Monument
City
Little cottage in the middle of a garden in the city.
I thought it was lavender but no smell one.
Great Castle up the hill!
Grand
Castle at the back!
Old street. They sell plenty of kilts and whiskies and cashmere here!
The Witchery. Scotland is sooo… fairy tale!
Outside Camera Obscura & World of Illusions
He scared i kick him there.
This picture looks just so. wrong. “Oh, look! I’m blonde!”
Scottish (blonde) boy!
Happy to catch them in time for a picture. Oh, this guy’s hair is confirm black.
Hehe.
Pictures from Calton Hill.
Very beautiful, but a bit wasted because can see some new construction going on in the city. Spoiled the view a bit.
My bikini tee from Supre.
Beautiful hor. We wanted to climb Arthur’s Seat too, where we get 10X nicer view but we reckoned we might die half way up the hill, of cold, of thirst, of a broken shoe strap, of melted make-up, of whatever bimbotic or princessy reasons we could think of, so we decided against it.
^^
<3 Scotland!
PS: Actually, just curious la. Would you rather i blog about Japan or UK or Bali? I’m very confused myself. If i don’t blog them i might not blog them forever. Hmm.
Or a puppy. Or a bunni. Whatever. I actually prefer bunni. It’s cuter. But somehow a bunni in Japan is very likely to give people a wrong impression. So i typed hamster.
Anyway, i dunno how it works in school nowadays, but if i’m allowed to write my essay with tons of pictures slot in between words, i for sure can score this “My Life as a Hamster in Japan” essay.
For once i feel like turning my blog into one of those– this morning i had yaki onigiri with umeboshi on top, and then i went online and chatted with Carolyn, she told me her cousin’s uncle want to introduce me to his godson. I wonder if the godson has got smelly feet. We loled. And then i listened to MEG’s Beautiful. I love that song. And then about 3pm i opened a pack of Jagabee potato chips, it is slightly salted one. It is nice and crispy. Now my left knee is a bit itchy. I think i got bitten by a mosquito. Ok i am going off to pachinko now, bye xoxo– blogs.
I really don’t have much interesting things to blog about, just in case you are expecting some, screw-Lonely-Planet-and-read-my-26-day-complete-guide-in-Japan thing.
(By the way i don’t get paid by writing Omg Cheesie’s Professional Guide to Travel in Japan! okay. Hmm. Well, i kinda do, but you know what i mean. Hmm.)
I am locking myself up in the room most of the time. When TK’s at work. So I’m like his little pet hamster. He comes back and feeds me during lunch time and then plays with me. Nom nom nom nom.

Chow of the day choice A. (Look i don’t even have a table. It is put on the carpet and i will sit on the floor and eat. I mean, nibble. Gnaw. Whatever.)
(Erm… what are the chopsticks for again?)
His aunt cooked one. Some taugeh with leek and egg and yakiniku. I dunno why but it taste exactly like Chau Kuey Teow minus the kuey teow.

Chow of the day Choice B
Yakiniku and egg and cabbage.

Chow of the day Choice C
Yaki onigiri + Hokkaido cheese stick.

Nom nom nom on the floor. I feel like a proper hamster. Except i am expected to clean up my own poo. And sometime help trim Master’s eyebrow.
And by the way when i say choice i mean Master’s choice, not hamster’s choice.

am allowed to take pictures.

Hamster is allowed out for a walk.
Hamster is have plenty of free time! When i talk to my human friends online, they are all like, “Omfg what are you doing here online!!! Go out!!! You are in Japan!”
I’m in Nara, by the way. And i stay in this place which is like 2832649 planets away from… from… from err… i dunno (not shopping center, not amazing 24-hour supermarkets, not yummy restaurants, not adult shops and definitely not pachinko and game center. Hmm… what leh?)
(Come to think of it Nara has got everything. I’m really quite pleased with it.)
(I mean, come on, what can a hamster demand?)
And i didn’t expect to do much traveling in the first place. Just… you know, spend some time here. The damn ticket was so cheap anyway. By the way traveling domestic in Japan is much more expensive than traveling overseas from Malaysia so i guess i will continue to lock myself in the room and have myself fed hamster food.

1. Jagabee potato chips
To avoid confusion with actual potato chips, you know, like Chipster chips, i shall call it Jagabee fries. But it is not actually fries. It’s difficult. But it’s better than Mc D fries for sure. For suuuuuuure.

2. Yukke
Some raw ground beef with sesame oil. Sooo good.

3. Tamago kakegohan
Favorite. So simple so nice. A hamster can’t ask for more.

3.5 (i added this picture later and i’m too lazy to change all the numbers below so i put 3.5 ok) Gyutan.
It is so delicious i might consider naming my baby Gyu Tan in the future.

4. Spam
Wooo i dunno why it looks like some proper hamtaro food. Don’t you think?

5. Hoka Hoka bento
My favorite bento in the world. On a rainy day we will drive out and tapao Hoka Hoka for dinner. I <3 Hoka Hoka HOI SOMEONE PLEASE OPEN ONE IN MALAYSIA OREDI!!!!

Then i will ask for Mentaiko topping. 80 yen each.

Super Shogayaki bento

Karaage Special bento

This one i dunno how to read the kanji.

With mentaiko topping <3 <3 <3

Tori Mayo Don.

6. Four season fruit ice with green tea mochi and special tea… set thingie

7. Macha swiss roll and Yuzu tea + marmalade.

Hey, it doesn’t sound too bad to be a hamster now, does it?
Ok i am going off to pachinko now, bye xoxo.
