Autumn in Tohoku

August 21, 2015

As summer is coming to an end soon, and if you are traveling to Japan in the next few months, these are some of the places you may want to consider going if you are into romantic autumn leaf viewing this fall.

The Tohoku region has some of the best known spots for Momiji (autumn leaf)viewing. I have done some looking around, and there are simply too many of them!! I have picked up my top 3 favorite, and these are the images i found on the internet, and i could hardly believe that they are real. I would like to witness it first hand one of these days. read more

Okayama Fruit Fair

August 17, 2015

Japanese fruits need no introduction. How can one not be attracted to those perfectly shaped strawberries that are absolutely flawless and so luxurious in size and mesmerizing in colors?

Other than their internationally-famous ichigo, do you know that Japan also produces world class peaches and grapes?

And Okayama, a prefecture in Chugoku, Japan, also dubbed the “Kingdom of Fruits”, is the birth place of some of the finest fruits in Japan including White Peach, since Okayama is already well known as the home town of Momotaro, the Japanese folktale that many of you have heard of. read more

Tokyo Disneysea with Junya

August 7, 2015

So so so!! It is Junya’s Disneyland debut! Unless you count the time he visited Disneysea when he was still in my tummy. Then this is second time hahaha.

A day before Junya’s birthday, i decided to join Number76 Malaysian team’s Tokyo Disney visit! The team was split into the Disneyland group and Disneysea group. I really wanted to get a Duffy for JunJun so i followed Amy who was the Disneysea team leader haha.

Disney #ootd

Bought a steering wheel for Junya’s stroller to get him occupied in case he wonders why he can’t sit on those Disney rides. At least he has his own ride lol. read more

Lancome Cushion Compact Video Tutorial

August 6, 2015

I haven’t done any make up tutorial in a long long time!

For about two years now my make up routine has been simpler than ever. I focus on usually a lip tint and rosy cheeks for an instant perk up. Usually i will forgo eyeshadows or even eyeliner and with just a good coat of mascara, a little brow color, and i’m set to go!

But of course, a good foundation is very important because that’s the base of your make up. I have come to ditch liquid foundations because it requires long, careful application to avoid unevenness, and usually i end up looking too made up. read more

Mother Farm, Chiba

August 5, 2015

This was on 11 June, Junya’s first birthday!

We didn’t have any birthday celebration for him but we did plan to go somewhere nice where Junya gets to enjoy too, just the 3 of us.

Mama & bb coordinate ❤︎

JunJun is wearing his 1-year-old baby Montsuki, a formal kimono for this special occasion!

First we went to 76CAFE Omotesando for breakfast and to meet all the Number76 from Malaysia for their company trip to Japan!!

My lunch: Chicken Over Rice, my current obsession in 76CAFE. The first time i tried it was when QiuQiu ordered it last December and was instantly smitten. ❤︎ read more

Toshiba: Torneo Vacuum Cleaner

August 3, 2015

Since i am mostly domesticated nowadays, i need to be an expert in many household related knowledge, such as mold prevention, durability of non-stick pans, the challenge of sustainable gardening, and … if a vacuum cleaner really sucks.

The latest addition in the house: Toshiba Torneo with a Dual Tornado System.

Yes, many of you are now aware that cyclone type vacuum cleaners are one of the most powerful. While some of you may 忍痛 and invest a few thousand Ringgit in a cyclone vacuum machine, this Toshiba Torneo is maybe 1/3 or even 1/4 the price. read more

Papa’s birthday party and hair dates

July 30, 2015

I love June and July because many of my favorite people’s birthdays are on these two months!

There’s JunJun in June (yea that’s partly why i gave him the name lol) and the danna in July. This year the only present i had for him is his lunchbox.

Getting more and more cheapskate every year lolol.

But this is the most serious kyaraben i’ve made ok!! Got sketch wan! Hahaha.

The food picks are from Tokyo DisneySea!

Anyway, i did have a small party for the danna and Junya, since You & Co, a wedding/party planner was sooo nice to help me arrange it! read more

maNara, a touching story about cosmetic

July 28, 2015

Today i want to introduce a new cosmetic/skin care brand that i come to love very much recently.

But before that i want to share some stories!

So during my family trip in Japan, Tokyo Luxey insisted i meet up with this brand called maNara because they think i will like the products. So i did, and we set a meet up at Loft, Yurakucho near Ginza, because maNara is sold at the Loft.

I thought i was just meeting the marketing people or the brand representative, but…

The founder and president of maNara, Iwasaki Yumiko san herself took some time off her super busy schedule just to meet this foreign blogger in Japan!! T___T read more

The meaning of Itadakimasu

July 26, 2015

Many of us love Japanese food.

If you are a little familiar with Japanese culture, you may have noticed that Japanese people say “Itadakimasu” before they start eating at the table.

You put both your hands together and with a slight bow, you say Itadakimasu, and then pick up the chopsticks and start eating. We practice this at our home every day as the danna is really strict with table manners. Junya will have to do it too lol.

Anyway, people usually translate Itadakimasu as “Bon Appetit” or “Let’s eat” (Or in Hokkien “lai lai lai jiak jiak jiak!!!” lolol), which is correct, but doesn’t reflect its true meaning. read more
