Happy 2016!

December 30, 2015

Before i forget, let’s do this and see what happened in year 2015!

Actually this pretty much sums it up.

Baby, babies and more babies.

I went back to my 2014 post to see what kind of things that i wrote (i didn’t even remember if i wrote one, that’s how much your baby is messing with your brain).

And i wrote that my resolutions for 2015 were:

1. Be as happy as i did in 2014!!! If not more!

I think it has been a very happy year.

It wasn’t as smooth sailing as 2014 because i got really busy with motherhood and our family had less time spent together because of work. I was quite stressed out with some issue (and still trying to sort it out), and i was really depressed for a short period of time when the haze was haunting the whole country. read more

The things you buy when you become a mother.

December 29, 2015

The danna went back to Japan for work, and i took the opportunity to order lots of stuff from Japanese online stores so he could bring them back.

And these are the kind of things i bought:

They say that when you become a mother, you just forget to buy things for yourself. I have come to realize that it is so true.

This is a shopping haul post, which probably will be of zero use to you since it’s exactly the kind of thing you can’t buy if you are out of Japan. But if you are thinking of shipping it from Japan, you can always find these on Akachanhonpo online store and also general drugstores like Matsumoto Kiyoshi. read more

Oishi green tea

December 28, 2015

Everybody knows the health benefit of green tea! In fact it has such goodness that it is also a popular ingredient in beauty products.

How do you like your green tea to be and how do you usually drink it? For me, it is the default drink every time i visit a Japanese restaurant. It’s almost as if you don’t need any other choice.

My favorite type of green tea is Matcha (Yes they are both green tea but there’s a distinctive difference!), i love it in everything including ice cream, chocolate, and any sort of desserts. Matcha is so much love!! However Matcha is has much higher caffein than the usual loose-leaf green tea, so now that i am pregnant i am sticking to lighter version of green tea. read more

3rd YEAR ANNIVERSARY

December 24, 2015

Today we celebrate our third wedding anniversary.

We spent our first anniversary in a Hakone ryokan with an extra family member in my belly.

We spent the second anniversary in our little apartment in Japan, eating combini-bought Christmas cake and other assorted tapao from food market, with our 6-month old Junya.

This year, we are in our newly rented apartment in Singapore, trying to adjust to our new temporarily life in a new city, with the 18 month old Junya, and a 19 weeks old baby in the belly. read more

Cheat One™ Cooking

December 20, 2015

Since my morning sickness (or rather, morning, afternoon AND evening sickness) is gone, i am able to paste all these pictures on this blog without running to the bathroom to gag.

So here it is, a compilation of food i put together for the family. This is for the future me to come back to read and think, ah, i was THAT amateur. *condescending smile*. Hahhaha no la. Probably more like, wow, i can’t believe i actually at one point know how to utilize the kitchen. Lolol. Either way, i am glad i did. read more

Eat Tokyo with Baby (Part 4)

December 12, 2015

Part 3 here. Part 2 here.  Part 1 here.

Super long food post from our Japan trip in Sep/Oct!

It was probably the worst trip for me when it comes to enjoying food, because my nausea was getting really serious T___T. I gagged myself through cooking breakfast, and i usually didn’t even eat dinner because evening sickness was the worst.

Ok actually the worst is changing Junya’s diaper after he poo pooed. Until today i still have phobia lol. Arghhhhhh this morning sickness thing sucksssss. read more

18 months

December 11, 2015

Hello! Junya turns 18 month today! He is one and a half now! 😀

(Also read  1st month , 2nd month , 3rd month , 4th month , 5th month , 6th month , 7th month,  8th month, 9th month , 10th month , 11th month , 12th month , 13th month , 14th month , 15th month , 16th month and 17th month here.)

The past month had been a little more physically relaxing as i cut down a lot of work to take more time for some proper rest and also to spend more time with Junya. There are other kinds of stress though, like one after another our family members fell ill, and trying to prepare for a massive lifestyle change (we may temporarily relocate to Singapore!!). We were faced with a lot of dilemmas but i guess we are lucky enough to be able to make choices in life. read more

Goto-Tomorrow

December 7, 2015

Champon has been in our family for over a year now. He is a Shiba Inu, and we got him from Japan.

He is the big brother in the house since day 1 (first ever picture together!!).

I have to admit, once you have a child at home, your pet is never going to get the same amount of attention from you, ever again (unless they live 20 years and by then all you have is your pet lol). It’s sad but inevitable.

But the fortunate thing is!!!

He now has allllllllllll the attention from his little brother, Junya. Sometimes a little too much to his liking XD read more

How to enjoy izakaya : true Japanese style

December 2, 2015

Even you haven’t heard of the concept of izakaya, you probably have been to one before without knowing!

Izakaya is a Japanese style pub+restaurant that is in a casual and cheerful setting, usually for parties and group gatherings. There are quite a handful of izakayas in KL itself, but i noticed that most Malaysians (including myself before i got familiar with the whole izakaya concept) visit izakaya not knowing the authentic Japanese way to truly maximize their drinking and dining experience. read more
