Favorite Phrases

He has a lot of phrases now, one being “tonneru desu” (It’s a tunnel), because his favorite part of the boring journey to school (thanks, traffic jam in KL.) every day is passing through the tunnel. And also going through the toll with Smart Tag. Now he says “tonneru desu” all the time. read more

On Number76 Singapore‘s grand opening day, JunJun was the first ever customer!! He has never had any proper hair cut (not like he had much hair to play with hahaha), but what a nice opportunity to start a first!

Mama was getting incredibly nervous! Luckily there was no one in the salon yet (purposely went super early!) so if Junya happened to cry murder at least the salon can roll down the shutters and pretend that they were a DVD shop with horror movie playing lolol. read more

The danna went back to Japan for work, and i took the opportunity to order lots of stuff from Japanese online stores so he could bring them back.

They say that when you become a mother, you just forget to buy things for yourself. I have come to realize that it is so true.

This is a shopping haul post, which probably will be of zero use to you since it’s exactly the kind of thing you can’t buy if you are out of Japan. Hello! Junya turns 18 month today! He is one and a half now! 😀

The past month had been a little more physically relaxing as i cut down a lot of work to take more time for some proper rest and also to spend more time with Junya. There are other kinds of stress though, like one after another our family members fell ill, and trying to prepare for a massive lifestyle change (we may temporarily relocate to Singapore!!). We were faced with a lot of dilemmas but i guess we are lucky enough to be able to make choices in life. read more

Junya is almost one and a half years old now and parenting is getting increasingly challenging.

He is tall enough to reach more and more cabinets and he is strong enough to open more drawers and the fridge. His fingers are getting defter in twisting, bending, unlocking and opening every single cans/bottles/jars.

But obviously it is also time he takes “no” for an answer less and less.

It is frustrating. Getting frantic at your toddler who is holding a glass bottle of soy sauce (they will not hesitate to be ruthless and drop it just to see how you react), not knowing to use the hard approach (firmly say no and grab it by force and let him cry) or soft landing (asking nicely for 10 minutes to a vigorously shaking head). read more

So we are having a baby! Again!!

I knew i wanted to have a second one soon after Junya was born. Maybe like 2 minutes after lol. It was like, well, that was a breeze!! (The whole pregnancy and delivery) I can do this again! Like now! Like i have just won a round of Jackpot on a slot machine lolol.

Hahaha. Actually for a few reasons la say real wan.

Firstly, I was super mega ultra lucky to have a relatively smooth (some people even say enviable) pregnancy. I thought, well, second helping, please!! read more

Hello! Junya turns 17 month today!

Having a baby probably never has been this fun AND tiring before. True, when they are first born you probably get like 2 hours of sleep each day, but at least they go to sleep. But now that they are awake almost as much as you do, you are just gonna spend the whole day between preventing them from setting fire to the house and consoling a wailing toddler who doesn’t understand why they can’t set fire to the house, 500 times a day. read more

Junya was eating what we adults were eating mostly during our entire travel in Japan, so now that we are back i started cooking for him again! Hello! Junya turns 16 month today!

We have spent almost a whole month in Japan now. And this time around it’s been a very different experience. I felt like my baby has grown like a few years!!! It was a really fun and at the same time tiring month.
