The things we took for granted

October 31, 2015

For the past few weeks i’d been feeling like i didn’t want to live anymore.

Well, i didn’t want to live a life like this in Malaysia anymore, to be precise. I wanted to go back to Japan. Or any other place where there was no haze. I didn’t want to deal with it because i didn’t know how to.

What could i do? I bought two of the most expensive air purifiers i could find online (because i didn’t want to drive out in the haze to buy), i sealed every single window in my house tight (I went batshit crazy when i saw one that was accidentally open the other day). I limited my groceries to the market downstairs and wore N95 masks when i had to go out of the door. I grounded Junya and myself at home for 3 weeks with our aircons and air purifiers blasting at MAX. I cancelled all his classes and most of my meetings. It was the freaking Apocalypse for me. read more

#Lunchforjunya 2

October 30, 2015

Haven’t done this in a while! Previous posts here: #lunchforjunya 1, #lunchforjunya in Japan.

Junya was eating what we adults were eating mostly during our entire travel in Japan, so now that we are back i started cooking for him again! Most of the recipes were inspired by Japanese Rinyushoku (baby food) cook books, cook pad, and other awesome Japanese mommies on the internet!  Here’s a compilations of #lunchforjunya ❤︎

#LunchforJunya

Actually it’s not just #lunchforjunya la haha there are breakfasts and dinners too. But usually breakfast is kind of the same everyday and usually dinner is a recycle of lunch so… i guess lunch is more interesting! XD read more

❤︎47 Prefectures❤︎, Why Japan Is Awesome

The miracle apple

October 25, 2015

I have briefly talked about this movie before, “Kiseki No Ringo”, literally, the “Miracle Apples”.

(Bonus of the movie: Original soundtrack by Joe Hisaishi!!!!)

The danna told me to watch this movie, and he said i would appreciate Japanese fruits even more after i watch it. And yes, i was really glad i watched it, and now i have unlimited respect for the farmers in Japan.

As i have talked about grapes, melons, peaches in Japan, apples are just another priced produce especially in Aomori, a prefecture in Tohoku. read more

Ever since i had Junya, 80% of my luggage space are reserved for Junya’s items. Cannot resist.

Before that here are some things you will need to know if you are going to Japan with your baby/young kids! I may have mentioned it before but here they are again:

Pantene 3 minute miracle

October 19, 2015

My hair could be under a lot of stress with all the traveling and exposure to all kinds of different climates.

Usually back in Malaysia i will just pop by the salon and get a serious intensive fix for my hair monthly, but when i’m traveling i hardly have the time (and luxury!) to do that, so indeed sometimes i do think my hair needs an instant miracle to look good after all the flying XD.

Is there something quick, affordable and effective to fix damaged hair in an instant?

So i heard the 3 Minute Miracle does. And i am giving it a chance. read more

Alice Nine in Malaysia!

October 15, 2015

One of my wishes in this life was to go to a concert of my favorite Japanese singers.

(Another life wish was to meet my music God and tell him how much i love his music. I did.)

And then i was given this chance to fulfil my dream by the same kind friend who also let me meet my music God 2 years ago.

It was Ayumi Hamasaki’s live in Tokyo.

I have loved Ayu for as long as i could remember. Her songs were my highschool dance music (in my bedroom lol). She was my fashion idol.

So attending her concert was like a dream come true for me. Except for one problem. read more

SK-II R.N.A Power

October 12, 2015

In my previous blog post about SK-II, i talked about how my skin condition is better than when i was younger. I kept thinking that once you go past your early twenties your skin will just go down down down down down.

It’s been many many years after those “early twenty” years, but i am feeling younger and younger. The irony is that i felt even younger after becoming a mother.

So i am a true believer of changing ones destiny. Not just skin, of course, but may i just say that many things in life can be just the way you want them to be. read more

Velvet Smooth Feet

October 9, 2015

When you travel for 3 weeks and walk a loooong way everyday, foot care is a must although it may not show up in your to-pack list.

That is especially when you travel to Japan, where pedi care is no less important than skin care! If you go to Don Quijote in Japan, you can see that there’s a whole rack dedicated to just foot care, ranging from foot files, masks, paddings, socks, creams, etc. Japanese women do take great care of their feet!

And the no.1 ranking electronic foot file is none other than Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi: read more

Solamachi and Gudetama Cafe

October 7, 2015

Haven’t updated in a while!!

There were guests staying with us in Japan this time so our family has been doing some touristy stuff these couple of weeks, and few days ago we went to Solamachi (the mall where Sky Tree is!) with our guest Carolyn, who finally came to Japan for the first time as a result of our brainwashing. I hope she is a convert now 😀

First family photo at Sky Tree! The line was about 90 minutes long so we didn’t go up to the viewing deck, but Solamachi is a great place for shopping too! read more
